Introduction
Loudoun County Animal Services is looking for a new humane law enforcement officer (HLEO) to join our expanding team. Our officers receive comprehensive training (both classroom and in-field), take-home vehicles, competitive pay, exceptional benefits (including ongoing training, tuition reimbursement and pension) and support from a community of over 440,000 residents.
The humane law enforcement team works within the department of Animal Services to provide comprehensive responses to calls that include dogs running at large, routine investigations, complex felonies, wildlife rescue, animal hoarding, technical large animal rescue (of livestock) and much, much more.
Job Summary
The Humane Law Enforcement team responds to over 5,000 annual calls for service, resolving the majority of these cases with education and positive outcomes, while maintaining a monthly court schedule, in which more serious and complex cases are presented and prosecuted. Officers work with the Animal Services sheltering and veterinary teams to collect forensic evidence and work towards comprehensive resolutions to animal welfare matters in Loudoun County. Our HLEOs are armed, sworn, and an integral part of our community, as we focus on providing compassionate animal rescue, intake, and law enforcement initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications
Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to high school diploma and 4 years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Animal Science, Criminal Justice or related field and/or equivalent experience in work involving animal welfare or the veterinary field.
Experience with companion animals and livestock is essential. Prefer some experience with exotics and wildlife.
Must possess a valid driver's license.
Spanish bilingual strongly preferred, with proficiency incentive available.
Job Contingencies and Special Requirements
Humane Law Enforcement is a physically demanding occupation with the potential for exposure to infectious diseases, viruses, noxious fumes and chemicals, as well as risk of injury. A rabies pre-exposure vaccination series will commence immediately upon hire unless proof of prior vaccination is provided.
Must have the ability to handle large and potentially dangerous animals over 100 pounds.
Candidate will become a sworn Humane Law Enforcement Officer and will complete state mandated animal control training.
Must obtain certification in euthanasia within six months of employment. Candidate will also be required to obtain certifications in CPR, First Aid, Incident Command System 100 & 200, and qualifications to use authorized firearms.
The successful candidate will undergo criminal, fingerprint, credit, and DMV background checks as well as physical examination, to include a drug screening and psychological exam. When on-call and using a take-home vehicle, HLEOs must operate from a location that is a maximum of 25 road miles from 42225 Adoption Drive, Leesburg, Virginia, or within Loudoun County limits.

Job Announcement
In the Juvenile Intake unit, within the Intake Division, this position is responsible for providing civil and criminal intake services for cases involving juveniles. Duties include establishing jurisdiction, venue and probable cause, determining appropriate offenses, as well as whether the case will be handled through diversion or formal court action with the issuance of a petition. Decisions are made in accordance with the Code of Virginia, the Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) standards, Court Services Unit (CSU) policies and procedures, as well as with the use of agency approved screening and tools.
As a part of those decisions, the intake officer is responsible for providing diversion services, which may include informal counseling, referrals to other agencies or other appropriate community resources, placing the youth on a diversion contract or setting the case for an informal hearing. If the decision is made to proceed formally the intake officer will generate legal paperwork which will become a part of the juvenile's legal file; attention to detail is a requirement in this position. This position requires data entry in databases managed by DJJ and the CSU.
As Juvenile Intake is a mandated service, this position has been identified as an essential employee by the county and requires reporting to work regardless of conditions such as inclement weather, county closures and holidays.

Maintains on-going contact/communication with victims and witnesses during investigation and judicial proceedings;

Provides court accompaniment to crime victim and witnesses for all court proceedings in the Juvenile and Domestic Relations, General District and Circuit Courts;
Responds to call-outs to crime scenes and other locations to provide immediate crisis intervention and support;
Provides training to departmental staff, commonwealth attorneys, judicial staff, and other relevant community organizations;
Alcohol Safety Action Program (ASAP) Case Management Services

General Information:
The Department of Public Safety and Police at James Madison University is accepting applications for a full-time Patrol Officer.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties and responsibilities are as follows: patrolling university property, buildings, warehouses, storage areas and grounds on foot or in a vehicle to enforce laws and regulations; prevent crime; investigate/control disturbances and protect life and property. The Public Safety Officer, under the supervision of the Public Safety Lt., patrols assigned areas of the Medical Center to identify and/or respond to unsafe conditions and emergency. Officers must be proficient in the use of the RMS Public Safety incident computer-based system and the VH Risk Qual System. Officer must know when to communicate information confidentially and which method of communication should be used for the type of communication being given.
Each officer immediately corrects problems or writes appropriate work orders or memos or reports problem to safety officers and others when safety related problems are observed; Public Safety Officers inspect fire extinguishers and eye wash stations and conduct or assist others in conducting other safety and Public Safety inspections such as Environment of Care Rounds as assigned; test and check alarm system equipment and other equipment as assigned to make sure they are functioning correctly; perform fire watches when requested; monitors Camera systems, Infant Abduction systems, Fire Alarm systems, Medical Gas Alarms, and generator alarms. Investigates reports of loss and damage property and reports of criminal activity. Assist law enforcement within custody individuals as needed.
Each officer is required to have a strong working knowledge of the facility assigned, Campus grounds and all related buildings on Campus; analyze and coordinate responses to all alarms on the property; respond to emergency incidents and provide physical Public Safety to our command location; perform inspection of buildings, doors (interior and exterior) to make sure they are opened on time and secured after the regular business day; pick up cash deposits daily to be delivered to the cashier's office in the. Officers are requested periodically to search patient rooms and patient property for contraband and if found to take the proper safety steps to render them safe. Each officer is courteous to the public (patients, visitors, employees, doctors, sales and service people, neighbors and passers-by, etc.). Shows a professional attitude consistently; promptly responds to such requests 95 percent of the time. When this is not possible because of higher priority, the person or department requesting services is promptly notified. Responds to emergency calls for service consistently in a prompt manner. IE. Fire, Biological, Mass casualty, Hospital Lock Down, Radiation Emergencies and Active Shooter; uses sound judgment and discretion in handling such calls 100 percent of the time; prepared to assist special needs patient population; assists in transporting patients to BHS; monitor ECO/TDO patients; intervenes in patient, visitor or family disputes and maintains order. Provides assistance to staff when they are working with an aggressive person and intervenes as necessary before staff are injured.

GENERAL DEFINITION AND CONDITIONS OF WORK:
Under the general supervision of a Police Sergeant or higher, employees in this position perform general law enforcement work in order to preserve public peace and order; provide a safe environment in the Town of Warrenton; protect lives, property and rights of the public; and, enforce laws and ordinances. Work involves patrolling the Town to deter crime, apprehend and/or arrest violators or suspects. Becoming an Officer
The Martinsburg Police Department is responsible for enforcing laws and regulations designed to protect the life and property of the citizens of our city and to improve their quality of life.
As a probationary police officer, you will participate in an extensive training program. The program consists of field training while under the direct supervision of a field training officer as well as the successful completion of 16 weeks training at the West Virginia State Police Academy in Charleston, WV.
The responsibilities of a Martinsburg police officer include patrolling designated areas to preserve peace and prevent the commission of crimes, enforcing motor vehicle laws and parking regulations, conducting criminal investigations, effecting arrests, testifying in court, and interacting with members of the community to promote safety and well-being in our city. Currently, officers are assigned to one of three rotating shifts working eight hours per day, five days a week. Each month you will rotate to a new shift schedule (day shift, evening shift, and night shift).

Each officer is required to have a strong working knowledge of the facility assigned, Campus grounds and all related buildings on Campus; analyze and coordinate responses to all alarms on the property; respond to emergency incidents and provide physical Public Safety to our command location; perform inspection of buildings, doors (interior and exterior) to make sure they are opened on time and secured after the regular business day; pick up cash deposits daily to be delivered to the cashier's office in the. Officers are requested periodically to search patient rooms and patient property for contraband and if found to take the proper safety steps to render them safe. Respond to AirCare landing and take offs.
Each officer is courteous to the public (patients, visitors, employees, doctors, sales and service people, neighbors and passers-by, etc.). Shows a professional attitude consistently; promptly responds to such requests 95 percent of the time. When this is not possible because of higher priority, the person or department requesting services is promptly notified. Officers provide detailed directions when requested by a visitor or patient; provide escorts to staff members when requested on off business hours. Provide patient and staff Public Safety and safety stand by for terminations, TDO hearings. Escorts disgruntled individuals from the building or property.
Responds to emergency calls for service consistently in a prompt manner. IE. Fire, Biological, Mass casualty, Hospital Lock Down, Radiation Emergencies and Active Shooter; uses sound judgment and discretion in handling such calls 100 percent of the time; prepared to assist special needs patient population; assists in transporting patients to BHS; monitor ECO/TDO patients; intervenes in patient, visitor or family disputes and maintains order. Provides assistance to staff when they are working with an aggressive person and intervenes as necessary before staff are injured.

General Information:
JMU Parking and Transit Services is seeking students for part-time employment in its enforcement and special events programs. Student employees are expected to work a minimum of 8 hours per week but may work a maximum of 20 hours per week if they choose.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Patrol campus and issue citations to vehicles parked in violation of JMUs parking regulations.
* Participate in parking operations for campus special events.
* Assist visitors with directions and general campus information.

Additional Posting Information:

Special arrangements are made for students living on campus to arrive early and remain after exams.

Job Summary
The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office is seeking professional, dedicated individuals who are interested in a position in law enforcement, specifically as a Correctional Deputy working 42-hours per week.
