Allied Universal is hiring a Security Professional - Unarmed. The Security Professional will conduct unarmed foot and/or vehicle patrol (interior and/or exterior) in a hospital environment. Additional duties include control access and egress; monitor CCTV and alarm systems; compose reports; deter criminal activity and misconduct. Due to the safety sensitive nature of this role, qualified candidates must be able to submit to drug screening to the extent permissible by law. This assignment is in a healthcare facility. As such, a tuberculosis (TB) test and certain vaccinations may be required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform security patrols of hospital grounds on foot or in vehicle; document detailed observations of unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards
Assist hospital staff with de-escalation of situations involving patients; restrain combative individuals as necessary (within company and customer guidelines)
Transport patients to the morgue, as needed
Assist in escorting patients from helicopter pad (high elevation) to the emergency room
Assist with evacuations during fires, medical emergencies, and natural disasters
Sound alarms or call police or fire department in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons
Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles
Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances and exits; ensure only authorized individuals enter and exit the hospital, and that no contraband or hospital items are brought in or out
Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensures that authorized removal of property is conducted within appropriate client requirements
Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities; maintain written logs as required
QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE):
High school diploma or equivalent
Current driver's license if driving a company- or customer-owned vehicle
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment
Minimum of two (2) years of verifiable employment history relating customer service or the protective service industry (preferably security, healthcare, military, law enforcement, or corrections)
Must be at least 18 years of age, or higher if required by the state
Able to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors

Flex Officer Explanation
The Flex Officer position is crucial to our company's operational and financial success. The flex officer provides trained, competent support by working shifts which become open due to illness, call-offs, weather, vacation, or other causes. This enables Sunstates to provide continual, uninterrupted service to our customers, while also protecting the health and work balance of our personnel.
Scheduling Expectations
The scheduling parameters and expectations for a flex officer are different from those of an employee assigned to a fixed post. As a flex:
You will be trained at various posts and /or facilities based on operational need. While you may work at a specific post or location for several weeks due to need, this will not be a permanent assignment.
Your schedule (shifts, days off, hours per week, etc.) will vary based on operational need.
You will be assigned to, or offered the opportunity to accept, shifts as they become available due to staffing needs.
Some of your shifts will be scheduled in advance and posted with the new week's schedule. Sometimes you will be called with short notice and asked to come in to cover for someone who is unable to work their shift.
You are expected to work any shift for which you are scheduled in advance which falls within the availability described on this sheet. If you know you will be unavailable on an upcoming date or time that would normally fall within your availability described on this sheet, you must communicate this with your supervisor, so they know not to schedule you.
For short-notice call-ins, you are expected to work at least 80% of the shifts for which you are called. If you refuse more than 20% of shifts for which you are called in, this could negatively impact your employment status with the company.

GENERAL SUMMARY
The Public Safety Officer/security personnel are responsible for (1) compliance with security access procedures at all assigned areas providing access to the secure area of the airport, (2) enforcement of TSA security regulations specifically related to 49CFR Part 1520,1540, 1542, and airport regulations along with (3) performing duties assigned by the Public Safety Officer Manager, Public Safety Officer Lead, or designee.
The Indianapolis International Airport is locally and nationally recognized for its sustained commitment to the highest level of customer service. The duties of these positions will include assisting and communicating with travelers and guests in circumstances that transcend traditional public safety roles and may be more focused on customer service.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
* Maintain compliance with all site policies, procedures, and directives
* Assess alarms, investigate, and report suspicious activities and/or circumstances
* Assign or conduct Airport Workers Screening checks and Insider Threat patrols
* Identify safety and/or fire hazards and make recommendations for improvement
* Report degradation, deficiencies, and accidents in accordance with current procedures and take appropriate corrective actions as directed by IAA Public Safety Supervision
* Control access of personnel, vehicles and materials into perimeter roadway area and maintain appropriate log.
* Perform protected vital area and fire watch patrols
* Perform compensatory postings and escort duties as directed by regulations set forth by the TSA, and IAA Public Safety Supervision and in accordance with current procedures and directives.
* Respond to contingency events in accordance with appropriate procedures and as directed by IAA Public Safety Supervision according to the Airport Emergency Plan (security and weather).
* Participate insecurity drills, practical exercises and required training programs as directed
* Maintain periodic qualification of academic requirements including (Access authorization, Airport Emergency Plan, Airfield Operation Area driving certification, etc.)
* Maintain all required qualifications for site access
* Provide courteous service, directions, and information to the public and others as necessary
* Observe for security violations, unusual situations, hazardous conditions and notify law enforcement regarding threats
* Assist with traffic congestion in and around the airport terminal/functions
* Ability to recognize hazardous or dangerous items (weapons, explosives, VBIED) during vehicle inspections.
* Deter security breaches while guarding gates or exit lanes.

CMS does not consider the use of weapons in the application of restraining as safe appropriate health care interventions. We consider the term “weapons” to include pepper spray, mace, nightsticks, Tasers, cattle prods, stun guns, pistols, and other such devices. Security staff may carry weapons as allowed by JMH policy and State law. The use of weapons by security staff is considered as a law enforcement use and not a health care intervention. CMS does not approve the use of weapons by any JMH staff as a means of subduing a patient to place that patient in patient restraint/seclusion. If a weapon is used by security or law enforcement personnel on a person in a hospital to protect people or hospital property from harm, we would expect the situation to be handled as a criminal activity and the perpetrator be turned over to local law enforcement.
If it becomes necessary to handle a situation as a criminal activity and to employ law enforcement interventions, the Security Officer must identify himself/herself as a law enforcement officer acting in that capacity

Summary:
The mission of the Earlham College Department of Public Safety is to work in partnership with the campus community to enhance a safe living, working, and learning environment; to provide quality service with an emphasis on integrity and professionalism; and to promote individual responsibility and cooperative commitment.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Officer (Patrol)
Patrol and observe all areas of the campus.
Assist in maintaining a safe environment for students, employees, and visitors.
Secure and protect the buildings, equipment, and other assets of the College.
Provide prompt, qualified assistance in emergency and nonemergency situations.
Perform parking enforcement.
Perform investigations of incidents and prepare detailed, accurate incident reports.
Monitor and respond to all campus alarm systems (fire, security, etc.).
Answer all Public Safety phones (emergency and nonemergency) and initiate necessary response.
Answer incoming calls received through the campus switchboard and forward to the appropriate office or provide information as needed.
Monitor all campus alarm systems (fire, security, etc.).
Maintain necessary communications with patrol officers, as well as local law enforcement, fire department, and emergency medical personnel as needed.
Maintain necessary shift logs.
Utilize department's computer records management system for reports and data entry.
Provide front desk assistance to students, employees, and visitors of the College, which may include, but not be limited to, issuing parking permits, ID cards, and keys.
Additional duties as needed to support Earlham College.
Qualifications:
Attainment of high school diploma or GED.
Experience in the human services field, first responder/emergency response, or a related field is preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to comprehend and maintain a working knowledge of college and departmental rules and regulations.
Ability to think and act quickly and professionally in sensitive situations.
Ability to work cooperatively with other Public Safety staff, College employees, and local law enforcement officials.
Ability to work and communicate well with college-aged adults in a multicultural environment.
Ability to work on an on-call basis to cover mandatory minimum staffing needs as they arise.
Ability to perform physical tasks including, but not limited to, walking or standing for long periods, climbing stairs, lifting 50 lbs.
Computer proficiency required.
Applicants with previous First Responder experience will be strongly considered.
Excellent problem-solving and good interpersonal skills, including the ability to work well in a team setting with minimal supervision.
Neat and organized work style, excellent phone etiquette skills, and the ability to handle confidential information.
A valid Driver's License and a minimum of 2 years of driving history
