Objective
The Contract Supervisor (LT) is responsible for overseeing
Protective Security Officers (PSOs) to ensure full compliance with FPS
contract requirements, post orders, and federal security standards.
Essential Functions
Read and understand the English language to effectively carry out applied printed rules, detailed orders, instructions, and training materials. Have a command of both the written and spoken English language to properly communicate in person or via electronic devices (telephone and radio) with co-workers and the general public. Maintaining a professional, tactful and courteous demeanor under stressful situations, security personnel routinely encounter. Be able to compose precise short paragraphs, written reports, and other reports in the English language as necessary.
Job Duties
Supervising personnel, managing schedules and staffing coverage.
Ensuring training and certifications are up to date.
Conducting post inspections and addressing performance or disciplinary issues.
Serve as the primary point of contact between the contractor,
FPS, and federal tenants.
Responds to incidents, ensures timely reporting,
and enforces professional conduct and ethical standards.
Quality assurance, equipment accountability, and implementation of corrective actions identified by FPS.
May perform other related duties as assigned by the Project Manager.
Candidate Qualifications:
Must be a Lawful Permanent Resident who is currently a member of, or who possesses a verifiable honorable discharge from, any component of the United States Armed Forces OR a U.S. Citizen
Must have been issued a Social Security Card by the Social Security Administration
1-2 years of verifiable supervisory experience
Must be 21 years of age
Must be a high school/GED graduate
Must have one of the following:
Two years of armed security experience or law enforcement OR
Two years of military service (active duty or reserve) with an honorable discharge.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:

Organizational Location: This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Enforcement and Removal Operations, within the 25 FOD locations and are assigned based on the needs to the agency ERO Field Offices.
As a Deportation Officer at the Entry Level you will work with more experienced officers to provide support and perform the following segments of work related to immigration investigation, custody, identification and location, arrest, prosecution and deportation:
* Assist with the apprehension of individuals that are accused of violating immigration or related laws;
* Assist with preparing investigative reports in sufficient detail and accuracy to support possible prosecution and/or administrative action;
* Perform law enforcement support duties such as taking fingerprints and photographs;
* Conduct routine interviews using various law enforcement methods and techniques (e.g., observation, interviews, document inspection, data analysis, etc.) to respond to a variety of immigration inquiries and complaints; and
* Document, transport, deport, and/or escort criminal and non-criminal migrants under the guidance of a more senior officer.
* Initiate both criminal and civil prosecutions and deport migrants to foreign countries as well as performing various aspects of custodial operations related to civil immigration enforcement.

Qualifications
You qualify for the GL-5 grade level if you possess one of the following:
Experience: Three (3) years of progressively responsible general experience, one (1) year of which was equivalent to at least a GS-4, in the Federal government. The experience must demonstrate the ability to: analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions; plan and organize work; communicate effectively orally and in writing; and deal effectively with others in person-to-person situations. (Note: Such experience may have been gained in administrative, professional, technical, investigative, or other responsible work. Experience in substantive and relevant secretarial, clerical, or other responsible work is qualifying if it provided evidence of the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the duties of this position. Experience of a general clerical nature, i.e. typing, filing, routine procedural processing, maintaining records, or other non-specialized tasks, is NOT creditable.);
OR-
Education: Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in any field leading to a Bachelor's degree. This education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university. One year of full-time undergraduate study is defined as 30 semester or 45 quarter hours; OR-
Combination of Education and Experience: Combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements for GL-5 and will be computed by first determining the total qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience requirement; then determining education as a percentage of the education requirement; and then adding the two percentages. The total percentages must equal at least 100 percent.
You qualify for the GL-7 grade level if you possess one of the following:
Experience: One (1) year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-5 level in the Federal government) performing basic trainee level duties such as: conducting interviews and writing basic reports to be included in case records; securing signed statements, affidavits and documentary evidence; searching databases to obtain information; answering general inquiries from federal, state, and local government representatives; and under the guidance of a more experienced officer, providing support for the arrest of individuals accused of violating immigration law; OR
Education: Successful completion one year of full-time graduate level education at an accredited college or university. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. OR
Superior Academic Achievement: Successful completion of all the requirements for a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and claim eligibility for superior academic achievement based on one of the following:
* Class standing in the upper third of the graduating class in the college, university, or major subdivision, such as the College of Liberal Arts or the School of Business Administration, based on completed courses;
* Grade-point average (G.P.A.) -- Applicants must have a grade-point average of:
* 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B" or better) as recorded on their official transcript, or as computed based on 4 years of education, or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; or
* 3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B+" or better) based on the average of the required courses completed in the major field or the required courses in the major field completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum.
* Election to membership in a national scholastic honor society recognized by the Association of College Honor Societies. OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of successfully completed graduate education in an appropriate discipline and experience as described above. To meet total qualification requirements for GS-7, first determine the total qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience required; then determine the education as a percentage of the education required; and then add the two percentages. The total combination must equal at least 100 percent of the requirement.
A college transcript(s) is required if claiming education in lieu of experience and must show your grade point average for your undergraduate study, including all transferred courses. GPAs are rounded to one decimal place. For example, 2.95 will round to 3.0 and 2.94 will round to 2.9.
National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Physical Abilities Assessment: All applicants must pass the PAA prior to graduation from FLETC. The PAA consists of a 1.5 mile run in 14 minutes and 25 seconds, 220 sprint in under 47 seconds and 22 push-ups in 60 seconds.
Motor Vehicle Operation: You must possess a valid state driver's license and be able to drive an automobile or light truck. You may also need to obtain and maintain a state commercial driver's license to operate an over-the-road bus capable of transporting 30 or more persons.
Age Restrictions: The date immediately preceding an individual's 40th birthday is the last day to be referred for selection (PL 93-950 and 100-238). However, the age restriction may not apply to individuals who are qualified preference-eligible veterans or who are currently or have previously served in a federal civilian (not military) law enforcement position covered by 5 U.S.C. 8336(c) or 5 U.S.C.§ 8412(d).
Training: Candidates selected will be required to attend and successfully complete the ERO Basic Immigration Law Enforcement Training Program located at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC). DO training is approximately 50 days in duration. Please note, in accordance to ERO Training policy 11158; no one will be permitted to attend more than two ERO Academy training sessions.
NOTE: Employees who do not successfully complete basic immigration law enforcement training and are terminated from training are ineligible to return to the ERO Academy for training, unless selected as a law enforcement officer under a different vacancy announcement. No one will be permitted to attend more than two ERO Academy training sessions.

MTC SecuritySpecialist (Part-time 28 hrs/wk)
The Brigham Young University Security Department is dedicated to maintaining a safe and secure environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. This is achieved through collaboration with university administration, risk and emergency management, law enforcement, Title IX, CAPS, events, and housing. Security supports the campus community by promoting personal safety, crime prevention, hazard mitigation, respectful interactions, and ongoing staff development.
The SecuritySpecialist's main role is to protect life and property while supporting all security operations. Responsibilities include patrolling, staffing security booths, following protocols, maintaining vehicles and equipment, reviewing reports, and ensuring timely communication up the chain of command.
SecuritySpecialists work in varied environments, both indoors and outdoors, and may face long hours, loud noise, extreme weather, and hazardous conditions. They may respond to emergencies such as crowd control, traffic incidents, chemical spills, and medical calls, often as first responders.

Must maintain the department fitness standards and be subject to mandatory physical fitness testing.
Must be trained and skilled in defense control tactics.
Must have a working knowledge of federal, state, and local criminal laws and procedures to include search, seizure, citizen's arrest, and use of force.
Must be familiar with their area of responsibility.
Ability to supervise and mentor student employees.
Understanding of crime prevention theory and application.

A. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
1. High School diploma/G.E.D. or equivalent.
2. Previous airline experience preferred.
3. Previous experience in security, military, customer service preferred.
4. Must be a U.S. citizen.

B. PERSONAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

4. Must conduct physical searches and take proper action upon detection of a questionable or dangerous item.
5. Conduct an inspection of food, sealed items, beverages, serving utensils, supplies, liquor and duty-free items.
6. Focus on external appearances- appropriate weights- signs of tampering with packaging, insertion of inappropriate items.
7. Inspection of food carts and supply trolleys must include side panels, doors, undercarriages, and dry ice compartments for items that do not belong. Searching under carts/trolleys/trays may be accomplished with a mirror.
8. Inspection must take place inside the catering facility or on the loading dock, and must be conducted to the extent permitted by local laws and hygiene standards.
9. Search the inside of the vehicles for weapons, explosives and other deadly or dangerous items just prior to loading catering carts.
10. Escort all catering carts from the time the monitoring/inspection is completed until the carts are loaded onto the transport vehicle.
11. After concluding the search and loading, close and seal all carts with tamper evident security seals.
12. The air carrier or representative meeting the carts at the aircraft will inspect the seal for signs of tampering prior to breaking it.
13. In the event a seal shows signs of tampering or are discovered broken, the suspect cart must be searched for weapons, explosives, and other dangerous devices prior to loading on aircraft.
14. All seals must be stored in a locked container and protected from unauthorized access.
15. Notify or ensure immediate Law Enforcement Officer and/or Airline Ground Security Coordinator notification when necessary.
16. Ensure safe handling of dangerous or deadly weapons/objects discovered until arrival of the Law Enforcement Officer.
17. Contact Law Enforcement Officer if items of contraband (illegal items) are discovered during the screening process. Maintain control of items until arrival of the L.E.O.
18. Report all Government tests, real weapons, injuries and other major incidents to supervisor immediately.
19. Keep supervisor informed of needs and problems in assigned areas, maintain cleanliness of immediate work area and report maintenance needs.
20. Project a positive image and respond to inquiries from clients, staff and public in a courteous manner.
21. Attend meetings and in-services as required.
22. Utilize appropriate communications channels and maintain records, reports and files as required.
23. Must be in proper uniform or business attire as directed by company officials.
24. Identification badges must always be visible.
25. Adhere to company policies and procedures and participate in achievement of company objectives.
26. Utilize company and client equipment, supplies and resources in a conscientious, cost effective manner.
27. Perform other duties as requested.
28. Comply with all safety requirements to include only using equipment that you have been trained on, immediately reporting unsafe conditions and workplace injuries, wearing proper PPE, and attending required safety training.

Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (including, but not limited to):
Responsible for shipping and receiving items moving throughout the facility. Log all items entering and leaving facility.
Coordinate with outside vendors to ensure proper load in and load out procedures are adhered to.

The SecuritySpecialist's main role is to protect life and property while supporting all security operations. Facility Security staff under direction from the Security Lead is responsible for shipping and receiving items within the Utah Valley Convention Center along with the prevention, detection and reporting of safety concerns on UVCC property; assists staff, clients and visitors to the facility.
This role pays an hourly rate of $13.00-$15.00

About the Venue
Located in historic downtown Provo, Utah the Utah Valley Convention Center opened its doors in 2012 as the premiere meeting space in Utah County. The UVCC boasts the perfect blend of modern architecture, flexible meeting space, and breathtaking interior and exterior views of the nearby Wasatch Mountains. This combined with its functional floor plan makes it the perfect venue to host any event.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (including, but not limited to):
* Responsible for shipping and receiving items moving throughout the facility. Log all items entering and leaving facility.
* Coordinate with outside vendors to ensure proper load in and load out procedures are adhered to.
* Maintain files of sign in sheets for events.
* Prepare and review incident reports for adherence to established standards; take corrective measures when necessary.
* Monitor and administer proper sign in/out policies; monitor security system and report abnormalities to Security Lead.
* Respond to all emergency situations.
* Inspect packages, meeting rooms, etc. (for detection of and or prevention of violations of criminal law and company policy).
* Patrol assigned facility locations; lock and unlock doors as required.
* Monitor event activity areas as well as entrances and exits.
* Observe facilities and equipment for needed maintenance and repairs; recognize and report damage and safety hazards.
* Be aware of the location and use of emergency alarms and equipment; follow established procedures in case of fire, disorder or other emergency situation.
* Control parking, pedestrian and vehicular traffic.
* Observe general public; provide general information, directions and assistance to facility guests; report suspicious behavior to Manager on Duty.
* Maintain a high degree of visibility and professionalism; respond to various situations, issues and requests for assistance; prepare incident reports in accordance with departmental standards.
* Assist emergency medical personnel by directing traffic, crowd control and securing needed equipment.
* Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contracted in the course of work.
* Provide excellent customer service assistance to internal and external clients.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The duties of this position are performed indoors and occasionally outdoors in the weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environments is usually moderate to loud during events and minimal during non-evet times.
