I liked working with the kids and most of the foster parents.
There was nothing about Seraaj as a company to like as they pay very little, reimburse on .35 per mile for mileage (as of 2018). I make at least $10,000 more a year (not including the increased mileage pay) working at another therapeutic foster care agency doing the same job with a little bit more paperwork. My current company gives us 6 hours of paid leave time per paycheck (every 2 weeks) whereas Seraaj only gave a week of leave time (5 days), which included sick leave if you wanted to be paid for being sick. Half of the time I didn't have a supervisor. I was paid hourly, which was not fair because several of my coworkers were fraudulently billing Medicaid and technically getting paid more for working less hours and getting paid for work they didn't do. At one point, we were told we could only use 1 hour per day for non billable time to do ppwk, which is not possible! This company cuts so many corners to make the CEO rich. They also only paid the foster parents $23 per day whereas my current company pays $34 to $36 a day based on age and offers clothing reimbursements per quarter.
No perks, the benefit was the experience and working with kids.
