HIRING FOR DAY SHIFT AND NIGHT SHIFT, 12 HOUR ROTATING SHIFTS. Work with a team to ensure equipment is operational. Perform daily preventative and predictive maintenance on equipment. Record and document maintenance performed. Maintain cleanliness of maintenance shop. Follow proper lock-out/tag-out procedures. Assist to ensure adherance to all company, state and federal regulations. All other relevant duties to the job. Manufacturing equipment repair experience required. Schedule: generally Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm, hours can vary . Night options available Troubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild, replace and complete all required repairs on diesel equipment (i.e., tractors, trailers, bobtails, reefers, lift gates, etc.). Perform preventative maintenance within company standards. Complete documentation of all repair orders, PM list and parts accountability. Handle road service calls; perform road rescue/transport equipment as needed. Keep track of assigned repairs by logging in and out of the Shop Fax system. Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with workplace safety rules and regulations and government guidelines. Maintain inventory and proper recordkeeping. Backup to other maintenance shop personnel. Willingness and capacity to assume increased responsibility and certifications. Performs other duties as assigned. Must have (3) years of verifiable hands-on experience as a heavy duty commercial diesel mechanic or reefer mechanic or a combination of both; or (2) years verifiable hands-on experience with either Diesel Mechanic Certification or TK/Carrier Refrigeration Certification or both. Diagnostic and troubleshooting competency relating to equipment repairs. Successfully demonstrated independent analytical and problem-solving skills. Prior experience in administering appropriate PM program. Must furnish own personal hand tools. CDL A and DOT certified preferred. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Ability to comply with EPA and OSHA regulations as pertaining to the shop and fleet. Ability to read and understand technical and service manuals. Excellent communication skills; able to communicate with co-workers and drivers with demonstrated teamwork skills. Ability to manage multiple functions simultaneously in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs. Computer and software experience. Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends. Must be able to work overtime when needed. Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law. Ensure safe operation of machinery, mechanical electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems and components. Follow blueprints, schematics, operation manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications. Troubleshoot sources of equipment problems through observation and use of precision measuring and testing instruments. Perform boiler chemical and wastewater pre-treatment system testing, record results in logbooks / computer systems and make necessary chemical adjustments as required Perform daily and weekly safety checks on boilers and make necessary repairs as required. Record and analyze meter readings of utilities in long and take corrective actions when necessary. Perform daily and weekly location/system safety checks and follow up to address concerns. Inspect motor, belts, fluid levels, replace filters and perform other maintenance actions in accordance with maintenance procedures. Inspect, clean and lubricate shafts, bearings gears and other equipment parts in accordance with work procedures and technical manual. Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System. Perform other duties as assigned by leadership. Qualifications What we're looking for: High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Two-year technical degree in an appropriate background is preferred. Must be at least 18 years of age. Valid driver's license and a safe driving record are required. Knowledgeable in maintenance equipment. Minimum of 6 months' work experience repairing industrial processing equipment in a production environment is required. Applicable military experience will be considered. Must pass UniFirst's maintenance knowledge assessment test to be eligible for employment. Ability to read blueprints and schematics is required. Ability to read and understand maintenance literature printed in English is required. Basic computer and Microsoft Office skills is required. Lockout / Tagout experience is required Ability to work overtime as needed is required. Ability to lift up to 80 lbs. This position is an essential part of Sherwin's manufacturing team. This position is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production and facility equipment to support production requirements and goals. Equipment may include: dryers, chillers, thermal oxidizer, HVAC, fire pump, mixers, mills, filling line equipment, conveyors, wrappers, tanks, motors, pumps, tank washers, tank tipper, as well as dock and building maintenance, etc. This position performs various maintenance tasks as assigned and is responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and productive working environment. Additional Information 1st Shift This position is also eligible for bonus based on performance and subject to the terms of the Company's applicable plans.
