* Interprets spoken passages from one language into another. In consecutive interpreting listens to complete statements in one language, interprets to second, and interprets responses from second into first language. Expresses either approximate or exact interpretation. Receives briefing on subject to be discussed prior to interpreting session.
* Responds to all customers, sets priorities, gives reports and maintains confidentiality. Provide information, education and technical assistance for customers in order to help facilitate effective use of language services.
* Maintains positive working relations with all customers and peers including verbalizing complaints or concerns through appropriate channels and accepting assignment
* Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory/Management Responsibilities
* This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.
Minimum Requirements
* Education - Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in related field of study preferred.

High School diploma required; college coursework in sign language preferred. Documentation of current Georgia Quality Assurance Screening (G-QAS) rating of Level III or higher in both interpreting and transliterating, and/or documentation of advanced interpreting skills and qualifications through current national certification from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID), and/or documentation of advanced interpreting skills and qualifications through current national certification from the National Association of the Deaf (NAD) Levels III, IV or V, and/or documentation of advance interpreting skills and qualifications through a current Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) rating of Level 3.5 or higher. The EIPA rating cannot be more than five years old.
