RESPONSIBILITIES Provide communication access to students who are deaf or hard of hearing by faithfully and accurately representing the classroom instruction, teacher/student dialogue, and relevant sound information in the mode of communication used by the student. Support educational goals set by the IEP team. Use the appropriate modality, language and language level appropriate for student as designated by the student's IEP. Ensure that teacher's message is being conveyed clearly and accurately while also ensuring student has the opportunity to participate in classroom discussions and social interactions. Maintain confidentiality and follow RID's Professional Code of Conduct. Work cooperatively with students, classroom teachers and special educators.
