Role
We are seeking an Advisory Azure Data Architect with deep expertise in IoT, time-series data, and observability platforms to provide expert oversight and validation as we transition more services and reporting workloads to ADX. This is a part-time, advisory engagement - ideal for a seasoned architect who can dedicate a few hours per week to help ensure that our ADX implementation, data migration strategy, and observability stack are aligned with best practices for scalability, performance, and cost efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
• Act as a strategic advisor to our engineering and infrastructure teams as we integrate additional systems and reports with ADX.
• Review and validate existing ADX configurations, ingestion pipelines, and data models.
• Provide guidance on data migration strategies, retention policies, and performance optimization.
• Ensure proper observability and monitoring are in place using tools such as Datadog, Azure Monitor, and related platforms.
• Offer best practices for managing and scaling telemetry and IoT data workloads.
• Participate in periodic architecture reviews and provide actionable feedback to technical leadership.
What We're Looking For
• Proven experience designing and optimizing Azure Data Explorer (ADX) environments at scale.

Roles & Responsibilities (Design phase only)
- Advise client on how AVC would work with Dynamic/Flexible Bundling (Kit) - to support both Product Configuration as well as Variant Pricing
- Advise client on how AVC would work with some of S/4's newer transactions, such as Solution Quotation (SQ), in S/4 private cloud premium edition, as well as ATO, ETO scenarios
- Advise client on how AVC would work with/impact upstream/downstream transactions, such as AATP, Product Allocation, S&OP, MRP, Segmentation, BRIM, etc.
- Assess post migration configuration touch-up's, integration retro-fits, testing considerations, implementation risks, data requirements, potential gaps, etc.

Seasats builds long-endurance ASVs that support maritime security, naval defense, and commercial and scientific innovation. As a Defense Solutions Manager, you'll be one of the public faces of Seasats, helping generate interest and excitement and then convert it into signed contracts. You'll make strong impressions at industry events, military exercises, program office briefings, and customer trials, focusing primarily on engagements with defense customers. You'll also send emails, use a CRM, and build a deep understanding of customer needs and our product offerings.
This is a hands-on role where relationship building, operational fluency, and follow-through are essential. You'll work directly with our executive team and engineers, making sure information flows where it needs to and suggesting creative solutions when appropriate.
Role Details:
Seasats is at the crest of a historical wave of opportunity. Your primary goal will be to make sure we capture and capitalize on as much of that momentum as possible, making high-quality products available to new users around the world. You'll contribute to commercial and research business development, but we expect you to bring particular effort and expertise to the defense market. Some specific tasks might include:
Representing Seasats at top-tier trade shows, conferences, and in-water demos (~6-10/year)
Building and managing relationships with program offices and other government customer groups (e.g., SOCOM, USCG, USMC, PMS-406, DIU, NOAA, etc.)
Owning opportunities from first contact through contract negotiation and close
Keeping deals in our CRM clean and current
Leading pricing discussions and coordinating with our Proposals Manager and leadership team
Training and coaching channel partners to ensure resellers are set up for success
About You:

* Be hands-on in the development of customer proof of concepts (PoCs), extending product features, and testing code.
* Experience in open-source projects such as StarlingX, Kubernetes, O-RAN SC, Nephio, etc… is a benefit. However, the ability and desire to contribute to these projects while representing the company is a must.
* Experience explaining technical concepts to large audience, comfort, and confidence in front of customers.
* Able to work independently in Customer location/Labs.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have 12+ years of software development or solutions architecting experience in the following areas:
* Working/functional knowledge of network stacks, switching, routing, etc.
* Strong knowledge of wireless/cellular telecom, and 5G edge deployments.
* Experience in network system-level solution design.
* Expertise in virtualization, containers, Kubernetes, orchestration, OpenStack, and cloud-native technologies.
* Exposure to SDN concepts, Network Function Virtualization (NFV), and ETSI-MANO.
* Linux background covering deployment, image build, application, and kernel development.
* Adept at various programming languages: scripting languages like Python, Perl, etc. C++/C are better to have.
* Must have, English language skills, enabling business discussion/dialogue
* Travel at short notice availability required up to 25%
