Job Description The overall responsibility of this position is to conduct engineering activities to support the AITX railcar fleet. This includes lease returns, car reassignments and repair of railcars in shops. Review and create appropriate repair projects for railcars per AAR, AWS, NACE and FRA recommended designs and regulations. This position requires the ability to perform independent research into new applications or improved techniques for repair. Support of the AITX Customer Service and Sales departments is a key aspect for this role. Job Duties Prepare documents such as car specifications, alternates, and cost estimates for such car alterations. Evaluate customer specifications to determine if AITX can supply or modify a car or car features to meet those requirements. Work closely with customers to determine their product requirements, improve reliability, product loading or unloading, handling, etc. Create projects, standards, and repair procedures to support the railcar fleet and ensure reliability.
