Key Functions

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Power Electronics Engineer to join our growing Electrical Engineering team. In this role, you will lead the development of advanced power conversion systems for hybrid power solutions, including clean-sheet designs for inverters, converters, and motor control systems. You will play a key role in supporting power electronics integration for next-generation generator sets, hybrid powertrains, and electrified propulsion systems.
Key Responsibilities
Lead clean-sheet design and development of AC/DC and DC/DC power converters, including bidirectional inverters and battery chargers.
Perform magnetics and filter design, system-level integration, and EMI hardening for military-grade systems.
Design and implement high-speed switching power electronics with 4-quadrant motor control and precise AC-DC regulation.
Conduct EMI/EMC testing, troubleshooting, and compliance verification to DoD and MIL-STD requirements.
Collaborate with mechanical, firmware, and systems engineers to deliver compact, efficient, and ruggedized power solutions.
Document designs and results using Microsoft Office tools and contribute to technical reports and presentations.
Interface with vendors, customers, and multidisciplinary project teams throughout the product lifecycle.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or related field.
Demonstrated expertise in:
Bidirectional inverters, DC/DC converter topologies, and magnetics/filter design
EMI hardening and compliance testing for defense applications
High-speed switching and motor control (4-quadrant)
Familiarity with AC-DC regulation principles and practical circuit implementation.
Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Must be a U.S. Person (Citizen or Permanent Resident) authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with weight- and efficiency-critical designs (e.g., aerospace, defense, UAVs).
Background in hybrid power systems, gensets, and MIL-STD compliant systems (e.g., AMMPS).
Knowledge of CANBUS/MODBUS communication protocols.
Hands-on experience with PCB layout and design tools such as EAGLE or Altium.
Firmware development experience (C/C++ preferred).
Project management skills with experience coordinating across teams and with external stakeholders.

Responsible for driving and managing the market strategy and technical evaluation during the sales process, while also working on other elements with the team as the key product advisor. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: List what the person must do to perform the job to meet standards.
* Assists customers with heat load calculations, equipment selection & quotation, sizing of hydronic & DX coil, sizing and quotation of direct fired equipment
* Responsible for Product demonstrations/presentations to key owners and engineers
* Acts as the primary technical resource for the field sales force - Reps
* Represents the product at field events such as conferences, seminars & office visits
* Pursues education of key technical requirements that support product applications such as staying well versed with ASHRAE Std. 189.1
* Gain familiarity of the various energy rebate programs available throughout the country
* Develop literature and other promotional tools to achieve the goals of the Business Model and marketing strategy
* Responds to functional and technical elements of RFIs/FRQs
* Conveys customer requirements to Project Management team and Customer Service
* Work with Product Management to identifies technical issues related to product design and customer requests
* Assures complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the marketing & sales process
* Travel as permitted to work with Representatives & OEM accounts and visit manufacturing facility. Typically, once or twice a quarter.

The Sales & Application Engineer must possess the experience and knowledge listed below:
* B.S.M.E. is strongly preferred
* 5+ years of relevant experience in HVAC systems
* Must be able to articulate product technology to Owners, Architects, Engineers and internal personnel
* Familiarity with building design documents, plans and specifications
* Experience and familiarity of LEED qualifications is a plus
* Ability to use computer software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Outlook
* Strong presentation skills including presentation design towards the specific audience being targeted
* Must be able to establish and maintain strong relationships with building owners, engineers and representatives
