Position Overview
The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized, professional, and energetic individual to serve as Subsidy Intake Assistant. Under general direction, this position will perform complex paraprofessional functions involved in regulating and monitoring the adoption assistance program. The position will assign subsidy packets to regional DCFS Adoptions staff for review and approval and will monitor and track assignments to ensure compliance with timeframes. This position provides a great opportunity for someone who is detail oriented and interested in playing a supporting role in the Department's adoptions operations. Essential Functions
* Serves as Subsidy Support Clerical Associate
* Receives and assigns subsidy packets to regional DCFS Subsidy Support staff for review and approval
* Answers incoming phone calls and greets visitors

* Keyboards travel vouchers from handwritten materials
* Serves as backup timekeeper
* Maintains updated Rules and Procedures Manuals
* Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above
Minimum Qualifications
* Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of high school
* Requires 2 years of office experience

Position Overview
The Illinois Department of Corrections is seeking an organized and detail-oriented person to serve as an Office Assistant in the Mailroom. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail processing and inspecting all incoming mail checking for contraband, money orders, personal checks, cash, stamps, cashier checks and records.. The candidate should possess the ability to communicate effectively with multiple entities to ensure the safety and security of the institution. We encourage all qualified individuals to apply.
Essential Functions
* Process and inspects all incoming individual in custody mail checking for contraband, money orders, personal checks, cash, stamps, cashier checks and records.
* Accepts and distributes all incoming institutional mail.
* Processes money vouchers for all individual in custody mail, i.e., packages, letters, etc.
* Scans all mail for security issues relays important information regarding security issues to Internal Affairs.
* Composes and keyboards a variety of difficult material such as reports, documents, letters, and memoranda.
* Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
* Requires knowledge skill and mental development equivalent to completion of high school and one (1) year of related office experience.
* Requires ability to type accurately at 35 words per minute.
Conditions of Employment
* Requires ability to pass the IDOC/IDJJ background check.
* Requires ability to pass a drug screen. The use of unauthorized drugs by an employee, regardless of position held, is prohibited.
* Applicants are required to abide by all vaccine and/or other medical standards as set out by the employer.
* This position is considered light work as defined by the U.S. Department of Labor (20 CFR 404.1567(b)). Light work involves lifting no more than 20 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds. This job may require a good deal of walking or standing or involves sitting most of the time with some pushing and pulling of arm or leg controls.
