Position Overview The Illinois Department of Corrections is looking for a highly driven Office Administrative Specialist. This position will serve as an LAN coordinator and computer systems coordinator for staff and individuals in custody. Additionally, the successful candidate will work closely with Illinois Department of Innovation and Technology (DoIT) staff and will provide guidance and direction with word processing, databases, spreadsheets, and other applications to staff and individuals in custody. Essential Functions * Serves as technical resource person on development and use of computer applications for staff and individuals in custody which are often of a highly complex nature to multi-program systems (databases, spreadsheets and word processing), and Local Area Network (LAN). * Analyzes operations through feasibility studies for staff and individuals in custody. * Serves as a resource person on instructing staff and individuals in custody for proper design, documentation testing and training for new programs. * Functions as a Local Area Network (LAN) administrator and computer system coordinator for staff and individuals in custody. * Provides automated and/or manual statistical reports to management relative to volume of users, percentage of use by facility. * Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above. Position Overview The Office Specialist position will serve as the facility coordinator for the Rasho, Lippert, Holmes, and other forthcoming lawsuit agreements. This position will work closely with the facility's health care and mental health departments to gather and keyboard information for multiple reports and databases.
