The Work:

What You'll Be Doing
Supply Chain Strategy & Ownership
Own the end-to-end supply chain operations, including demand and supply planning, sourcing, manufacturing, inventory management.
Develop and execute scalable supply chain strategies aligned to company growth, margin targets, and customer experience goals.
Lead S&OP or similar planning processes to balance demand, supply, and financial outcomes.
Support and execute company-wide strategic initiatives.
Inventory, Demand Planning, Forecasting, and Performance Accountability
Own demand management and planning processes, ensuring alignment between revenue forecasts, supply constraints, and inventory targets.
Establish and manage target inventory levels, turns, projections, and inventory optimization strategies across all product categories.
Continuously improve forecast accuracy, service levels, and inventory velocity while managing working capital risk.
Report and actively drive key supply chain performance metrics, including inventory turns, days on hand, fill rates, forecast accuracy, and service level attainment.
Supplier Strategy, Cost Management, and Risk
Serve as the senior interface with strategic suppliers, manufacturers, and fulfillment partners.
Leverage supplier relationships to drive continuous improvement in product costing, inventory velocity, quality, and service levels.
Own supplier performance management, including issue resolution, corrective actions, audits, and long-term capability development.
Develop contingency sourcing and risk mitigation strategies to ensure supply continuity in a regulated environment.
Compliance & Operational Risk Management
Ensure all supply chain operations meet regulatory and compliance requirements across applicable markets.
Maintain audit readiness, lot tracking, COAs, recall processes, and documentation standards.
Partner closely with Compliance and Legal teams to proactively manage regulatory changes and operational risk.
Cross-Functional Leadership
Partner closely with Finance on cost control, forecasting, budgeting, and margin optimization.
Collaborate with CX and Operations to ensure fulfillment performance meets customer expectations.
Provide clear, data-driven updates and recommendations to executive leadership.
Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support business objectives.
Systems, Standard Work, and Operational Excellence
Active contribute to evolving our supply chain systems and tools, including ERP, WMS, and forecasting platforms.
Implement and enforce standard work, operating rhythms, and planning cadences to drive predictability, consistency, and scalable execution.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives that reduce cost, improve service levels, and strengthen operational discipline.
Drive process documentation, SOP development, and operational transparency to reduce key-person dependency.

What You'll Bring to the Team
10+ years of progressive experience in supply chain and operations.
Proven experience owning end-to-end supply chain functions in a high-growth or regulated environment.
Strong background in demand planning, inventory management, and S&OP or SIOP processes.
Demonstrated success driving inventory performance, including turns, service levels, and working capital optimization.
Proven ability to deliver results through both direct reports and cross-functional partners outside of formal reporting lines.

Reporting to the CFO, the Supply ChainManager is the top supply chain leader for McKenzie and is responsible for master scheduling, inventory policy, reorder point strategy, purchasing execution, supplier performance, warehouse replenishment, and freight coordination across all McKenzie sites (NC, WI, TX, UT, PA).

Inventory Strategy & Planning
Own the inventory policy for all manufactured and resale SKUs across all warehouses.

Supervisory Responsibilities
This position will lead and manage a high-performing hybrid team, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and fostering a collaborative culture. Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with suppliers for live goods plant inputs including seeds, cuttings, bulbs, etc.
Negotiate contracts, prices, and terms with suppliers to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality.
Ensure compliance with all company policies and relevant regulations, including sustainability and ethical sourcing standards.
Develop and maintain an approved supplier list based on performance, quality, and reliability metrics.
Monitor stock levels and forecast future needs to avoid overstocking or shortages.
Develop and implement inventory management strategies to optimize use of space and resources.
Coordinate with greenhouse staff and production managers to ensure materials are available when needed.
Prepare and manage the purchasing department's budget, ensuring adherence to financial objectives.
Track spending and identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality.
Analyze market trends to make informed purchasing decisions.
Work closely with greenhouse operations staff, horticulture teams, and logistics teams to align procurement with production schedules and logistics planning.
Provide regular updates to management on procurement performance, challenges, and opportunities.
Foster collaborative relationships across departments to ensure seamless greenhouse operations.
Develop and implement logistics strategies to ensure the efficient transportation and delivery of greenhouse supplies and materials.
Coordinate with suppliers and transport services to ensure timely delivery of goods.
Monitor and optimize transportation costs while maintaining high service standards.
Track and analyze logistics performance to identify areas for improvement.
Assess and mitigate risks related to supply chain disruptions, logistics challenges, price fluctuations, and quality issues.
Develop contingency plans to minimize the impact of supplier delays or shortages.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in supply chainmanagement, Agriculture, a related field or equivalent.
5 years' experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chainmanagement of perishables, preferably within the agricultural or greenhouse industry
Proven experience in managing hybrid or distributed teams and fostering collaboration in a dynamic environment.
Proven experience in negotiating contracts and managingsupplier relationships.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Demonstrated ability to motivate, manage, and develop a high-performing team.
Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
CPIM or CSCP or other professional certification is a plus
