The IT Infrastructure Technical Writer is responsible for developing, organizing, and maintaining clear, accurate, and user-friendly documentation that supports the delivery, operation, and maintenance of IT infrastructure services. This role collaborates closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) across infrastructure domains-such as network, storage, compute, cloud, and automation-to translate complex technical information into standardized documentation, policies, and procedures that support both technical teams and business stakeholders.
What You Will Do
Develop, edit, and maintain a variety of technical documents including standard operating procedures (SOPs), configuration guides, runbooks, architecture overviews, and infrastructure design documentation.
Collaborate with IT engineers, architects, and project managers to gather technical information and ensure documentation reflects current systems, processes, and standards.
Translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and accessible language for diverse audiences.
Maintain document version control and ensure timely updates to reflect infrastructure changes, enhancements, and lifecycle transitions.

Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Technical Communication, and minimum of 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced degree in a related field and a minimum 5 years experience.
3+ years of experience in technical writing within IT infrastructure, operations, or enterprise technology environments.
Experience documenting network, server, storage, virtualization, or cloud infrastructure preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to quickly learn complex technical systems and translate them into understandable documentation.
Proficiency with documentation tools such as Confluence, SharePoint, or similar content management systems.
Qualifications We Prefer
