Responsible for splicing high voltage and secondary network systems (power cables used in underground distribution) and street lighting. Fully capable of installing, splicing and terminating high voltage at 13.2kV and below. Locating and repairing cable faults of all kinds. Performs all other underground work involving construction, maintenance, repair and routine inspection.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Operates all tools and equipment pertaining to underground distribution.
Identifies and handles all materials and components associated with underground residential distribution (URD).
Identifies and handles all materials and components associated with lead cable work.
Reads and interprets various underground-related prints and drawings.
Splices lead cable, 350 and 500 MCM, including straight lead splices, wye lead splices, up to quad lead splices.
Communicates with employees, other departments and Line Department personnel to ensure proper understanding of job procedures and daily activities.
Communicates with customers to promote a positive awareness of BWL responsibility.
Required to follow BWL Safety Manual and wear required personal protective equipment.
Attends training for safety awareness or skills improvement as assigned by supervisor, BWL or governmental agency such as MIOSHA.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS: KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
Journey worker certification as Cable Splicer and experience working in high voltage and secondary network systems.
Must be respirator certified to work in confined spaces.
Must work with asbestos and lead.
Must have an annual physical and be monitored for blood lead levels.
COMMERCIAL DRIVER'S LICENSE (CDL):
Candidates must possess a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Upon hire they must provide proof of successful completion of the State of Michigan written portion of the Commercial Driver's License (CDL) examination and pass the Department of Transportation (DOT) physical exam. Within six months of the date of hire they must successfully pass the Michigan CDL skills/road test. Individuals will be subject to DOT requirements in accordance with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), including random testing for controlled substances & alcohol.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Operates jackhammer and various tools and materials weighing up to 75 lbs. Operates various types of trucks and equipment. Splicing requires sitting in awkward positions about 45% of the time and working in trenches, handholes, vaults, and access openings. Stands on uneven terrain about 35% of time. Pulling cable requires walking on uneven terrain 25% of time. Climbs ladders, stairs and ramps. Wire coding requires good vision in order to distinguish colors. Must be able to communicate emergency information. Good hearing required to troubleshoot localized sounds.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
All temperature and humidity ranges, indoors and outdoors. Noise and dust levels may be high at times. Possible confined/tight spaces.

Position Summary:
The Michigan Natural Features Inventory, a program of MSU Extension, is hiring up to twelve seasonal field technicians to conduct plant species surveys and collect plot based vegetative data on Federal, State, Municipal, NGO, and/or private lands.
Seasonal field technicians will be responsible for traveling to remote areas, preparing for and conducting rare and invasive plant species surveys; compiling plant species lists; providing descriptions of survey areas and current threats; capturing GPS data including survey locations of rare species and priority invasive species and survey tracks; taking quality photos, documenting rare plant populations using MNFI field forms or other specified monitoring data; collecting and labeling voucher specimens of new county records; reporting findings at weekly or biweekly intervals; transferring data to excel spreadsheets; collecting plot-based vegetative data, and writing summary reports of work accomplished.
Desired Qualifications
Preference will be given to applicants with intermediate to expert botanical skills in the identification of Michigan plants species and demonstrated field work experience.
Strong work ethic, the ability to work independently in remote areas, and be able navigate in the field via map, compass and GPS.
Ability to stay in hotels or campgrounds for up to a week at a time.
Available during late May through the end of September, but we may be able to accommodate those who are only available for a shorter time frame, or may be able to support work into October.

We are looking to add a skilled Field Service Technician to our team out of the Elizabethtown, KY or Lansing, MI region. The Field Service Technician will travel to customer facilities to lead, manage, and provide hands-on work regarding the process of disassembly, repair, and assembly of different subassemblies or complete mechanical and/or forging presses.
Essential Functions Performed by the Position
Ensure team is performing work in a safe manner, wearing all required PPE at all times.
Lead, manage, and supervise both customer and Enprotech employees in any maintenance and press repair actions.
Act as a customer site liaison for daily activities and planning.
Assemble, repair, and rebuild manufacturing equipment from component parts in accordance with standard operating procedures to customer specifications.
Read, interpret, and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bill of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble equipment and products.
Disassembly and reassembly of metal forming presses which also requires rigging, fitting, scraping, grinding, adjustment, etc.
Installs lubrication blocks, lines, and general plumbing (i.e., pneumatics, hydraulics, etc.).
Troubleshoots hydraulic lubrication systems to determine necessary repairs to regain functionality.
Aligns machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, and plumb bobs.
Prepares and utilizes basic hand tools including but not limited to ratchets, impacts, torque multipliers, hydraulic torque wrenches, magnetic drills, and hydraulic jacks.
Verify that parts are prepped, deburred, and free from defect prior to assembly.
Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards using process inspection tools and devices.
Operate small lathes and mills to polish small parts and make keys.
Operate cranes, forklifts, and other rigging equipment.

How You Will Contribute:

Compensation

Job Summary
The Repairs & Compliance Technician is responsible for executing and verifying all corrective actions related to compliance inspections. As a Repairs & Compliance Technician, your primary responsibilities include:
