Manage and schedule VDC/BIM modelers to keep projects humming

Qualifications:
Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Licensed PE required.
3+ years minimum experience with a mechanical contracting company and/or Architectural/Engineering firm.
Strong Skills and Proficient in Revit software or other compatible software.
Proven experience with reviewing, editing, and writing project specifications.
Experience with generating and/or reviewing production submittals against project specifications.
Experience with walk throughs, defining scope and generating bill of materials.

Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering and 7 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation. 7 years of experience with each of the following skills is required: 1. Utilizing advanced 3D design software suites (Catia V5, 3DX, Teamcenter, and visualization tools) to develop concepts, 3D models and drawings to deliver complex Molded Plastic and Sheet Metal commodities. 2. Executing failure avoidance processes utilizing FMA and DFMEA. 3. Implementing 6 Sigma discipline and problem-solving processes, including 8D. 4. Leading resolution of design issues during product launch. 5. Product Development Engineer - positions offered by Ford Motor Company (Allen Park, Michigan). Lead development of cost, weight, and functionally efficient suspension components and systems
Collaborate with Ford Purchasing in the sourcing of new suspension components/systems, conducting supplier technical reviews to ensure the best source for the product from a functional and financial perspective.
Deliver all program milestone requirements, especially in-plant dates, on time and with quality ensuring documentation is stored in the appropriate location per the records management process and parts are appropriately marked per the prototype or production material process.
Manage changes to parts/systems and resolve all functional, durability, and assembly issues identified.
Apply engineering disciplines including DFMEA, PFMEA, Requirements, Design Rules, Engineering Specifications, DVP&R, Drawings, Control Plans and SCCAF
Ensure compatibility with interfacing systems and components including attaching hardware and joint design
Manage multiple suppliers and support Supplier Technical Assistance engineers in delivering production parts with quality. This would entail on site visits with the suppliers to review their processes.
Guide validation of suspension components/systems, reviewing test loads, set ups, reports, and results for both internal and external testing at the vehicle, system, and component levels and reporting requirements in the Ford Engineering Design Environment

Engage with Chassis Architecture, Chassis Systems Engineering, Vehicle Engineering (Vehicle Dynamics and NVH), Vehicle Evaluation and Verification, Vehicle Operations, and the Plant Vehicle Team to deliver robust suspension components and systems to final production that meet vehicle level performance requirements.
Be onsite at the Ford manufacturing facility in support of pre-production builds and resolution of any issues that arise as production ramps up.

Responsibilities
What you'll do...
Development of new TPMS hardware, software, and systems
Support Warranty Analysis and quality improvement
Work with lead engineers to take responsibility for a subset of parts/requirements.
Lead design reviews with internal and external teams including suppliers.
Quality documentation development and reviews
Ensure requirements such as FMVSS, ECE, and other regulatory or legal requirements are met including RF certification and homologation.
Packaging of receiver module to optimize RF reception.
Develop and execute design verification plan (DVP) for TPMS system on bench, HIL, and vehicle per program milestones requirements (DCV, PEC, FEC, etc). Track status in FEDE and JIRA for issues.
Manage parts release in WERS.
Support programs through launch by leading issue resolution and presenting status to management.
Collaborate with Chassis and Vehicle Operations teams to ensure interface and process/assembly requirements are met.
Travel to supplier facilities and Ford assembly plants as needed to support design reviews and launches of new products, APQP and PPAP approval.

Qualifications:

Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in using assembly processes and all related tooling.
Direct experience with ERP systems.
