The Public Safety Officer I is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of patients, visitors, and staff within the facility. This position will work closely with healthcare professionals to maintain a safe and orderly environment, respond to emergencies, and provide assistance as needed. This entry-level position offers an opportunity to contribute to the well-being of individuals in a healthcare setting. Ensures no one enters the hospital with any weapons or other unpermitted objects that would potentially cause a safety issue within our hospital.
Educational Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training or coursework in security, law enforcement, or healthcare-related fields preferred.
Experience/Requirements:
Candidates must be 21 years of age or older in order to apply and test for the Security Police Officer License.
Valid driver's license, and the ability to obtain and maintain any required endorsements or certifications.
Candidates must have no more than 5 points on their MVR.
Candidates must also have no more than 8 points from driving-related infractions, violations, convictions or no more than 15 or more points resulting from any type of non-valid license status (expired, suspended, etc.) on their Samba risk assessment.
Please note: both checks are completed separately and not meeting either requirement will result in disqualification from the pre-boarding process, regardless of the result.
SambaSafety is a third-party system that evaluates overall driving risk based on license status, violations, and driving history. In addition, employees in positions requiring driving privileges are subject to ongoing monitoring through the SambaSafety continuous driver record monitoring program. This ensures compliance with institutional and safety standards throughout employment.
Successful completion of post-hire entry training course, included but not limited to: CPR, Stop the Bleed, Narcan, and de-escalation. Must maintain certification requirements.
Certification in healthcare security (e.g., Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator (CHPA), Certified Healthcare SecurityOfficer (CHSO)) or other relevant security certifications is highly desirable.
Minimum of one year of security experience is highly preferred.
Successful completion of basic securityofficer training and customer service training within the first 90 days of hire
Previous hospital security experience a plus
May have to work other shifts as necessary. 30-day notice prior to any shift change.

SecurityOfficer at Kadlec Regional Medical Center The SecurityOfficer II receives general direction from the Security Manager, Supervisor or Lead SecurityOfficer. Performs a full performance level technical security protective duties to protect patients, visitors, staff, physicians, property and facilities from accidents, bodily harm, fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry. Enforces Kadlec, facility and security policies and regulations. Investigates reports of potential criminal conduct against Kadlec staff, visitors, staff, and property; responds and assists in restraining patients; detains individuals when necessary or at the direction of a police officer; and provides protective services to high risk areas. May be required to support any Providence or affiliated organization in emergent situations in the local service area.

Shift Details:
+ Part time, Day Shift, 24 working hours weekly
Required Qualifications:
+ Driving may be necessary as part of this role. Caregivers are required to comply with all state laws and requirements for driving. Caregivers will be expected to provide proof of driver license and auto insurance upon request. See policy for additional information.
+ 2 years of Law Enforcement/Security/Military/Corrections experience, or related work experience in a healthcare setting, or relevant college coursework deemed important to the job.
+ 1 year of experience working within the Kadlec Security department, passage of the Security Department SO2 Promotion Test, and the passage of a Security Department administered oral board.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice, History, or English.
+ Prior experience in healthcare setting.

Perform procedures to the standards set forth by the Director and the Vice President of Support Services.
Directly respond to emergencies, as needed. These emergencies may include quickly negotiating stairs and corridors in order to reach the scene of the emergency and assisting, lifting, or restraining people and/or objects (or assisting health services personnel in doing so).
Assist responding fire, paramedic, police, and any other emergency personnel, and prepare subsequent related reports.

Conduct building inspections.
Respond to calls for service by the Front Desk Receptionist or Home Care Department.
Patrol all parking lots and garages at least once each hour of assigned shift.
Enforce the parking policy.
Prepare accurate and complete reports of all incidents that occur on assigned shift. Maintain complete confidentiality with regard to report content and related information.
Provide meal and break relief for the Front Desk Receptionist, as requested.
Use the proper cart for the proper assignment. The 6-passenger Cruise Car is to be used for shuttles only. The 4-passenger Club Car is to be used for Security patrols only.
Provide coverage to service elevator, as directed.
Assist the Front Desk in the delivery of flowers and packages to residents not on the ‘Do Not Disturb' list.
Assist valet coverage and responsibility, as needed.
Provide prompt and efficient shuttle service as requested.
Complete maintenance duties of shuttle carts and ensure that carts are kept clean. After each shift, wipe down all surface areas and sweep floor. Thoroughly wash, as requested.
Prepare work orders as needed and submit to the Front Desk before the end of your shift.
Strive for quality work with each assignment.
Make efficient use of Plymouth Harbor's resources and supplies.
Be available to respond to Plymouth Harbor during an emergency.
Work safely; complying at all times with Plymouth Harbor safety standards.
Discharge properly such other responsibilities and duties as the Director or Vice President of Resident Services may direct.
Attend and participate in workshops, seminars, and mandatory in-services as approved or required.

The SecurityOfficer II is responsible for providing a secure and safe building for peers, staff, patients, and providers. POSITION REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Experience : A minimum of a High School Diploma, or GED with one-year experience working as a SecurityOfficer. General knowledge of security duties. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES (THIS IS A NON-EXEMPT POSITION) On each assigned tour of duty:Maintains crowd control for all CHI patient care and mall areas.Provides immediate response to pages and radio calls.Ensure that lights are turned on or off as required.Patrol staff and patient/visitor parking lots, directing traffic when required, issuing traffic notices to parking violators as required.Complete Irregularity Report on all irregularities: thefts, fires, and on any misconduct by staff, patients or visitor who break CHI rules and regulations.Notify metro police of all break-ins; car thefts, hubcaps, batteries, act of vandalism and disturbances.Maintain key control of building at all times.Responsible for locking and/or unlocking center exit doors, department doors, lock, and unlock outside gates as required.
