The sea wall was still visible when the Ocean Club was constructed and opened in 1962, with the top of the sea wall within feet of the pool’s diving boards.
After a stint on the Palm Beach County Planning and Zoning Board, he rejoined the Town Commission in 1966 and was appointed mayor – a position he served for 46 years.
The original beach club opened in 1975 and was a swimming pool and a building with few amenities.
1980 The Beach Club is expanded to130 Dining and 70 lounge seating
1986: In a view looking to the north, dune vegetation is beginning to fill in and the wall is still visible between the club and Ocean House North condo.
Due to lack of water pressure in the fire hydrants at the residences in the north end and in higher buildings, a water improvement bond was voted on by residents in February 1991.
In a May 10, 1992 Palm Beach Post article referring to Ocean Ridge it was stated, "It may be dull, but the residents like it that way."
The case was heard in Circuit Court in 1993 and the Town of Ocean Ridge prevailed.
The book was first published in 1995 with all copies selling out.
When the members gained control, money was set aside for a new facility and that arrived starting in 2002, when the entire building was torn down.
William F. Koch, Jr., the Mayor of Gulf Stream for the past 46 years passed away on June 16th, 2012.
2021: In the past 35 years, dune vegetation accumulated enough sand to bury the sea wall separating the Ocean Club of Florida from the beach, leading to this unfinished Ocean Club pool replacement project.
