    The position works in the regional retail shop to sell Girl Scout Merchandise to our Troop Leaders and parents on behalf of our Girl Scouts. Keeps the shops looking inviting, full of product, and clean and takes direction from the Retail Sales Manager in our Long Beach Service Center. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Provide courteous, consistent, professional and knowledgeable customer service. Assist volunteers to complete their Girl Scout Merchandise purchases. Adhere to and support Store Policies. Be knowledgeable of the merchandise as it relates to the Program levels and answer volunteer's questions. Learn about new merchandise as it is developed and introduced. Educate the volunteer on the National Girl Scout Program Portfolio and its complimentary merchandise. Learn and understand from the Retail Merchandising Manager the skills of excellent product placement techniques, and how to encourage additional sales. Learn & practice strong inventory control methods. Correctly counting in merchandise shipment to packing slip. Assist to complete cycle counts year-round, and in full physical count as needed. Understand the Girl Scout Leadership Experience and how the Retail Shop can motivate girls and parents to expand their participation. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Qualifications (Minimum Education and Experience) Outstanding customer service and organizational skills. Knowledge of Girl Scouting highly desirable. Prior retail sales experience preferred. Good math skills and able to use a cash register. Dependable and self-motivated. Excellent computer skills. Ability to multi-task. GED required Physical Requirements The incumbent is in a non-confined office-type setting in which he or she is free to move about at will. The environment for this position is mostly clean and comfortable but may include some minor annoyances such as noise, odors, drafts, etc. while performing this work, the incumbent: Will spend time sitting, utilizing the computer. Will spend time standing/walking throughout the facilities. Must travel via personal vehicle or public transport to various facilities throughout the region. May lift to 15 lbs. periodically.     Under the direction of the General Manager, place processed donations in proper area on sales floor, sort, box and label hangers by type. Major duties include maintaining cleanliness of sales floor, receiving incoming donations and issuing receipts, greet and assist donors/customers. Essential Functions/Duties 1. Politely and professionally receive donations from donors and issue donation receipts for articles donated. 2. Rotate stock on a timely basis and in accordance with established procedures; bring stock to sales floor in a timely manner. 3. Place and present all merchandise on appropriate textile racks and wares shelves in accordance with merchandising policies and procedures. 4. Sort, box and label hangers by type. 5. Assist in textile color rotation per established procedure. 6. Greet each customer with a courteous, friendly and professional attitude; provide prompt, efficient, and accurate customer service at all times. 7. Direct customers to proper area and provide general information as requested. 8. Stay alert and watch for shoplifting; notify store management on suspicious activity. 9. Keep sales floor and production area clean and safe. 10. Maintain well groomed appearance and appropriate dress code including name badge and vest. Additional Functions/Duties 1. Refer all customer complaints to management in a timely manner. 2. Answer telephone promptly using established etiquette procedure. 3. Follow Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) procedures and other Public Protection Guidelines. 4. React calmly and respond to emergency situations. 5.
