Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site position based in Savannah, GA. The Warehouse Lead will oversee daily warehouse operations, including shipping and receiving, inventory management, and handling of goods and materials. Key responsibilities will also involve ensuring accurate packing, unloading shipments, supervising team members, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. The ideal candidate will ensure timely, organized processes while monitoring stock levels and optimizing warehouse space.
Qualifications
Proficiency in Shipping & Receiving processes, with hands-on experience in Packing and Unloading shipments

Your Role: Manage and execute daily warehouse activities at a Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) site. Load and unload containers using a forklift and pallet jack. Pay, Schedule & Benefits:
The anticipated starting pay range is $24.35 - $25.35. This compensation range considers a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experiences, as well as internal equity.
This is a full-time, non-exempt (hourly) position.
Works a variable schedule, averaging 30+ hours per week over the course of a year. Weekly schedule typically includes weekday business hours. Starting hours are 7am to 3:30pm Monday-Friday.

What You'll Do:
Review shipping and receiving schedule in advance, and plan daily warehouse tasks accordingly. Collaborate with International Programs team to determine and coordinate outbound shipping.
Inspect all inbound ingredient deliveries. Report any irregularities and place items on hold.
Generate and track lot tags for incoming ingredients.
Operate powered industrial forklift and pallet jack. Organize inventory and load/unload shipments.
Stage materials and equipment for mobile food packing events.
Use ERP reporting to determine supply quantities and ingredient amounts for upcoming events.
Develop container plan, specifying weight distributions and prioritizing supply delivery for events setup.
Partner with the Event Staging Specialist, if applicable to prepare supplies and handwashing stations for upcoming events.
Enter outbound and inbound ingredient information into ERP database. Log unused ingredients and supplies. Troubleshoot discrepancies.
Coordinate dock schedule with freight companies for outbound/inbound event supply deliveries.
Track inventory weekly and complete materials usage and inventory reporting in ERP database.
Provide updates to International Programs, Logistics, Supply Chain and Food Safety personnel.
Assist in determining supply needs for the permanent food manufacturing site (ex. gloves, soap).
Plan the efficient use of warehouse space while juggling inbound and outbound shipments of ingredients, finished product, mobile food packing event supplies and co-packer materials.
Organize, clean and maintain warehouse area and adjoining spaces.
Hire, train, schedule, supervise and manage the performance of Warehouse Assistant.
Follow equipment standard operating procedures.
Understand, follow and enforce personnel and food safety policies and procedures.
Produce and maintain Bills of Lading and other documentation as necessary for the legal transport of goods.
Train staff on the safe operation of warehouse equipment.

About the position:

Ensure the maintenance and proper use of equipment, including hand trucks, forklifts, and the dump truck.
Follow/train Red Tag procedures.
Off-load truck and trailers by removing materials and placing in designated areas.
Load trucks by placing materials in designated trucks.
Transport materials to appropriate departments and locations, including transporting waste to the dump (via truck) and moving materials (via forklift).
Determine salability of furniture and large appliances for sale at the retail stores and the Outlets. Recycle unusable metal items into metal salvage container.
SECONDARY DUTIES
Dispose of trash; process textile and cardboard salvage, process metal salvage, including appropriately storing material and/or dispersing it to buyers; perform shoes salvage (storage); clean the dock, bays, storage and dump areas.
Move vehicles (such as bobtail truck) as needed.
Perform related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
EDUCATION REQUIRED: High school diploma or equivalent.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION REQ'D: Valid California Class C driver's license and/or forklift certification, or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: One year material handler experience, including six months as a material handler 2, or equivalent.
KNOWLEDGE: Basic math ability.
Material handling techniques and use of material handling equipment.
Familiarity with Goodwill Central Coast's mission, general Company policies and procedures (this may be learned on-the-job).
EQUIPMENT USED: Typical material handling equipment, bale machine, forklift, trucks.
SKILLS/APTITUDES/TEMPERAMENTS:

JOB SETTING
Work is performed on covered, but unenclosed dock area. The temperature and exposure to elements will fluctuate depending on weather conditions. Dust and dirt is controlled by daily cleaning of work area. There are occasional fumes from the trucks. There is occasional handling of household toxic products received in donations. Work is completed independently but in cooperation with whole department. There is occasional contact with public who donate at the dock. The noise volume is moderately high throughout the day depending on the amount of activity, equipment and vehicles in operation and radio operation. Material handling equipment (forklift, hand truck, movable containers/racks) and trucks may be operated in or near work area.
The job includes occasionally walking on uneven ground when going up and down ramps; otherwise, ground/work surface is even.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The job requires consistent lifting of objects weighing up to 50 lbs. Heavier items (51 lbs. or more) will be moved either with assistance from another person or by using appropriate material handling equipment.
Normal or corrected talking, hearing, and seeing abilities are sufficient to perform the required tasks.

Responsibilities
· Supervise the warehouse specialists to ensure that warehousing tasks are being performed properly.
· Performs a variety of warehousing duties which require an understanding of TAB's storage plan.
· Verifies materials and/or merchandise against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages.
· Counts incoming stock for verification and after classification of the product.
