Distant preservice process of pursuing teaching in Seminary and Institutes. (If you live more than 90 miles from a physical preservice center then you are a potential teacher for this program) Phase 1 (video submission): Potential teachers submit a 30-minute video of themselves teaching a seminary class. You might have to find the local Seminaries and Institute Coordinator to get a class to teach. Then submit the video. Please make sure video is put at the angle so I can see and hear the students too. The most qualified applicants will be selected to participate in a 6-week Workshop which is phase 2. Phase 2 (6 Week workshop) Those selected will participate in a 6-week online zoom workshop, to learn to teach more like the Savior, which requires a potential teacher meeting once a week. Submit another video at the end of the workshop. The most qualified potential teachers will be offered a position as a “student teacher” and move on to phase 3. To assist selected students improve their reading and math skills to enable them to reach their full potential. * ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Administers reading and math tests to identify the level of student achievement. * Works with the classroom teacher and Building Administrator to determine the instructional needs of each Title I student. * Works with small groups of students and with individual students in reading and math.. * Maintains student files as requested and required by the needs of federal, state and local guidelines to track student progress. * Assists the Federal Programs Office in gathering a variety of data that is needed for reporting to state and/or federal agencies. * Attends inservice classes, building meetings, monthly program meetings and district meetings. * Prepares tutoring area for instructional activities and constructs learning materials. * Attends Parent Teacher Conferences for Title I students as requested. * Operates equipment (i.e. tape recorders, VCR's, overhead projectors and copy machines). * Assists students on arrival and departure from tutoring area. * Designs tutoring schedule for working with qualified Title I students. * Orders materials and supplies through the Building Administrator. * Communicates with parents and families as directed by teacher or administrator. * Maintains accurate records to assist in compiling data for a variety of reports required by state and federal agencies. * Participates in the school as a regular part of the staff and accepts supervision and other duties as requested. * Maintains high standards of ethical behavior and confidentiality. * Has regular and predictable attendance. * OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Performs all other duties as assigned. * TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: This position will be scheduled for 28.75 hours per week. Benefits will be in accordance with Board policy. Wages will be in accordance with the Classified Salary Schedule as a Grade 5 - $16.39 or $17.19 per hour depending on experience.
