Position Summary:
The Facilities and Operations Specialist is responsible for implementing the day-to-day administrative and operations needs of the Foundation's office environment. The Foundation includes fifteen (15) staff and is developing processes and procedures to accommodate community groups wishing to use the office space for meetings and convenings. Under the supervision of and reporting to the Director of Operations & Grants Administration and in collaboration with members of the management team, this position will be responsible for all logistics related to the office and facilities, including the use of office space use by external groups, the purchase and maintenance of needed office supplies and equipment, support with staff and board events and retreats, handling of mail and phone messages, and reception duties.
Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Implement the process and procedure for the use of the office space for hosting external community groups. This includes scheduling, responding to reservation inquiries, arranging for parking, creating lists of resources such as catering, ensuring access to the building, providing agreed upon supplies, ensuring functioning of meeting equipment, and arranging for clean up.
Order food and arrange for delivery and provide set up and clean up for board meetings and other work meetings as determined by leadership.

Participate as needed and abide by all emergency preparedness planning and trainings.

This is a contract 1099 opportunity ideal for independent freelance elearning professionals seeking to supplement their business income with fairly regular opportunities to deliver classroom based instruction.
Classes are typically 2 to 5 days long. Class times are 9:00 to 4:00 with a one hour lunch break. Instructors are expected to arrive by 8:00 and be prepared to stay up to an hour later, if necessary, to answer customer questions or assist them with any challenges. Daily Rates

Summary

ABOUT THE ROLE
A member of Safe Place for Youth's Leadership Team, the Director of Housing will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing holistic, client-centered, and innovative housing programs, including Host Home, Roots to Grow, A Bridge Home Sunset, and the Nest Family Housing programs. They will oversee all contractual outcomes and budgetary requirements, as well as monitor programming to ensure effective and equitable resources and services for TAY. They will provide leadership and direction aligned with SPY's mission and core values.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Lead and implement organizational policies and procedures; participate in organizational and departmental decision-making
Develop, implement, and oversee all programming within the housing department, including site operations
Monitor and create policies and procedures; update annually
Oversee and ensure program compliance with all relevant standards and requirement
from contractors, partners, and funders
Oversee and manage program budgets
Implement equitable and effective methodologies for the management and oversight of housing contracts
Strategically allocate resources and services to combat racial disparities in homelessness and cultivate strong partnerships with community providers
Collaborate within the appropriate CES systems and LAHSA to ensure equitable and inclusive housing placements and maintain occupancy
Develop program improvement strategies to ensure appropriate services and resources are implemented
Evaluate programs strategically to establish measurable goals and outcomes; developing and implementing tools to track and evaluate youth data and outcomes; prepare reports to meet grant and internal requirements
Develop partnerships that enhance and expand programs and increase impact in the community

Requirements
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Master's degree in Social Work, Public Policy, Public Administration or a related field, or equivalent professional experience

Qualifications, Experiences, and Attributes
Background and experience in arts education, museum education, early childhood education, acting, storytelling, and/or related field
Outstanding public speaking and interpersonal skills; warm, welcoming, professional manner, ability to discern visitor needs and engage positively with people of different ages and abilities
Demonstrated ability to lead participatory educational experiences for people of all ages in an informal education setting.
Proficiency in one or more of the following specialized areas: gallery teaching, puppetry, acting, movement, music, percussion, storytelling, improvisation and visual arts
Team player with a collaborative work style; ability to accept and support change, and work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds and work styles
Ability to work long hours in both indoor and outdoor settings that require physical agility (kneeling, crouching, lifting, sitting on floor, etc.) and sustained energy
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, highly sensory environment while maintaining composure and visitor focus.
Proven ability to exercise good judgment, take initiative, and manage a changing and varied workload
An active interest and understanding of the Skirball Cultural Center mission and essential values
Basic knowledge/understanding of Jewish cultural practices desirable
Fluency in spoken Spanish preferred but not required
