    Your job is more than a job. The Dosimetrist provides dosimetry services as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist for the treatment of cancer patients. Has knowledge of the overall characteristics and clinical relevance of radiation oncology treatment machines and equipment. Cognizant of procedures commonly used in brachytherapy, education and expertise necessary to generate radiation dose distributions and dose calculations in collaboration with the Medical Physicist and Radiation Oncologist. Sign on Bonus available Relocation available GENERAL DUTIES Performs accurate treatment plans and dosimetry calculations: - Develops treatment plans in accordance with the Radiation Oncologist's prescription and instructions. - Uses computer planning for treatment calculations for external beam treatment and brachytherapy planning under the direction of the Physicist. Accurately check patients treatment records regularly: - Verifies the accuracy of all calculations, mathematical additions and computer plans in patient chart on a regular basis. Coordinates treatment simulations and tumor localizations, including CT for radiation therapy treatment planning: - Performs the planning and the fabrication of compensating filters, custom shields, wedges and other beam modifications needed for radiation treatments. Assumes responsibility for professional development and supports department goal attainment: - Meets requirements for mandatory hospital in-services and attends department meetings. - Meets requirements for Continuing Medical Education. - Trains/educates radiation therapy students on dosimetry rotation. Assists in employing appropriate and correct technique in the administering of radiation therapy treatments and simulations: - Assists other therapists on treatment machines and in the simulation room as needed. Your Everyday * Provide primary surgical assistance to the surgeons during the operative procedures. * Prepare patients for surgery by washing and disinfecting incision sites. * Use surgical instruments skillfully in ways consistent with their designs and purposes. * Assure availability of instrumentation and supplies required for the surgical procedure prior to the case. * Understand and practice principles of sterilization, universal precautions, hazardous materials management to process instruments, equipment and supplies through the stages of decontamination. * Assist in transporting the patient postoperatively. * Stay updated on the latest surgical technology, medical terminology and procedures.     Your job is more than a job. OB Hospitalist New Orleans The Physician provides medical care and treatment to patients. Provides consultation and medical supervision to the clinical staff. Performs routine examinations, diagnoses and provides treatment for illnesses and injuries to promote the patients' overall well-being, and provides immunizations according to medical or school guidelines. GENERAL DUTIES Patient Care: Provides quality care to the patient. Responds to patients' calls and messages and attends to patients. Maintains patient and business records including the completion of daily patient encounters. Observes patients for signs and symptoms of abuse/neglect and reports immediately in accordance with appropriate policy. Recognizes emergencies and responds appropriately in adherence to organizational policies and procedures. Patient Access: Participates in a physician call schedule which is evenly distributed between providers and offers patient meeting slots as deemed by the designed template. Safety and Infection Control Standards: Assists with compliance to safety, environmental, infection control, quality improvement and other regulatory standards. Implements standard and transmission-based precautions and ensures patient safety during clinic visits, in accordance with the hospital/regulatory policies. Maintains a clean clinic working environment. Reports any safety hazards or violations in patient or clinic environment to clinic manager or designee. Medical Director Duties (if applicable): Ensures provider compliance with patient access, patient care, etc. Communicates provider concerns to administration, communicates initiatives and solutions to providers. Completes provider assessment and reviews including reviewing this with the provider. Develops and maintains work and call schedules. EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS Completed residency training. EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS Doctoral Degree in Medicine or Osteopathy. LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS American Heart Association, Basic Life Support-HCP, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certification. Medical Physician Licensure through the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners SKILLS AND ABILITIES * Medical skills. * Computer software skills. * ICD-10 and CPT-4, working knowledge.
