Job DescriptionDescription: The Tower Technician works with cell phone towers to provide wireless communications services. A Tower Technician may assist in setting support infrastructure to build towers from the ground up. They also conduct routine maintenance while also installing more delicate equipment antennas, lighting at the top of the towers which requires additional education, experience, and training. When at the telecom job sites, the focus is always on efficiency, quality, and safety. Responsibilities and Duties: As a Tower Technician the duties include, but are not limited to the following: Participate in pre-project meetings and complete all required paperwork Assess safety hazards and ensure all work is performed following all safety rules and regulations Effectively work with and support fellow crew members crew members Successful completion of all scope of work assigned according to construction requirements and quality standards, and within the time frame allotted Provide troubleshooting and support for integration tasks Perform administrative tasks as required including timesheet submittals, daily reports, expense reports, materials list, etc. Participate in punch-walks and submit close out package information Take responsibility and care for all company equipment, vehicles, and tools Investigate and report all accidents/incidents to management and safety department; suggest and implement corrective actions Requirements: Must haves: Ability to work with advanced hand/power tools and alignment tools Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard best practices Basic computer skills Must be RF Awareness, CPR/FIRST AID, OSHA 10, Comtrain (or equivalent) certified Must be able to travel away from home for 3 - 6 weeks at a time Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record Must have basic hand tools, full climbing gear, boots, work clothes, PPE Willingness to use TCE's systems and processes, including GPS enabled time-card system Preferred: Experience with all major carriers (TMOBILE, Verizon, AT&T) NWSA TT1, TT2 Rigging Knowledge and experience using test Equipment, ODM, PIM, Anritsu, OTDR Ability to read SA and other paperwork Ability to operate truck and trailer Salary and Benefits: $19-$30/hour BOE Excellent health care benefits including medical, dental, vision and several supplemental offerings Company paid life insurance up to 1x annual salary, STD and LTD Great PTO plan Physical Requirements: Must be able to climb and work on the towers, poles, buildings (no fear of heights) Must be able to lift and carry at least 70 pounds Must be able to perform the essential job functions safely and successfully Must be able to work in inclement weather (snow, rain, heat, high winds, etc.), long hours and variety of shifts (including night work) Must be able to pass ongoing drug screen testing

Your Impact: The Telecom Customer Premise Technician - Level IV is required to perform detailed installation, integration, and testing of Customer Premise fiber systems and routers with minimum supervision. Knowledge and experience with transport equipment including Ciena, Fujitsu, Cisco, Nortel, Nokia, DELL, Juniper, etc. Deep understanding of fiber installation standards and procedures. Ability to read and follow Method of Procedures, order specifications, floor plans, equipment, and wiring documentation. Responsible for the accuracy of all documentation as required. Ability to interface with customers, vendors, and other company employees in the completion of, testing of, and turning up of equipment. Turn up and Integration system testing skills required. Elevated level of understanding of all company policies and practices, safety procedures, paperwork, and administrative requirements. Will review subordinate's time and expense documentation for accuracy and completeness. Comply with system update requirements of all company/customer installation documents. Ability to resolve any project related issues utilizing defined processes. Read, understand, and apply job/equipment specifications, installation documents, schematics, and test records. Demonstrated proficiency in generating MOP's, High-risk activity reports, work schedules, test records, and project completion reports. Perform in-process and final quality audits to ensure all items meet or exceed industry and/or customer standards. Interact with all members of the organization including Installation, Engineering, Project Management Be capable of performing the following work operations/job activities without supervision or direction: Physically place, remove, or modify working and non-working equipment. Install Cable trays and/or racking from drawings and Engineering documents. Install Telecommunications equipment cabinets and frames, data servers, switches, routers, repeaters, bridges, gateways, multiplexers, transceivers, firewalls as required. Identify, label, measure, terminate and physically route the cables that supply AC and/or DC power or transmit data in various technical spaces. Conduct testing and document performance characteristics of hardware and software; determine efficiency, reliability, and compatibility with existing system. Perform test and turn-up as well as other integration activities. Resolve equipment and technical issues as they arise. Perform quality validation on in-process and completed work. Perform other duties as requested. Specific duties may vary or evolve over time based on business and client needs. Core Experience: Minimum 5+years' installation experience or combination of experience and training as determined by company management. Prior leadership experiences required. Verizon Installation experience a plus! High school diploma with two years technical school or a combination of training and experience related to telecommunications field installations. Ability to apply common sense understanding to conduct instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving variables in standardized situations. Must have proficient laptop computer skills and experience with applications. Ability to fully understand all company/customer policies and procedures and safety requirements. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams) skills.
