Ensures company policies and procedures are followed. Have direct interface with the City of Milwaukee FTA/State DOT oversight exposure Coordinates daily transit operations' dispatching and in-service monitoring. Completes necessary daily and/or weekly reports for company and customer. Tracks and maintains employee attendance system and processes driver and operations staff vacation requests. Maintains/orders necessary driver and staff uniforms. Monitors and evaluates Operations activities. Includes: vehicle on-time statistics, missed runs, customer complaint data, accident data, road call data, and other operations-related functions Assists with supervision of location staff. Communicates job requirements and expectations. Monitors the performance of staff and provides coaching and guidance as required. Shall be fully trained and capable of running other departments in the event of a vacancy. In conjunction with the Safety Manager, ensures all federal, state, local and company recordkeeping requirements are met. May assists in accident/incident investigation, including any needed on-site assistance and support to safety and training personnel. Coordinates with the safety and training department to ensure all safety goals and directives are met. Ensures that all manifests are performed accurately and timely. Manage Dispatch and Operator schedules and validation of pay hours. Assigns manifests and documents assignments manually and in the specified computer system; updates and maintains dispatch. Assists with operator hiring process; administers discipline to operators including recommendations for suspension or termination; oversees activities and supervises driver's room; documents attendance and enforces uniform policy; counsels' employees. Performs any other management requests or directives as they relate to the overall function of Transdev. In addition, shall maintain the appropriate license requirement to drive a route as necessary to complete the day's activity. Qualifications: 2-3 years of transit supervisory experience preferred. Knowledge of regulatory requirements to assure compliance with applicable Federal, State, and local laws. Experience supervising schedulers, dispatchers, and drivers. Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office. The ability to prioritize tasks effectively and manage time effectively. The ability to appropriately interact with employees of all levels, including drivers, customers, senior management, client representatives, union officials, and the general public. Work extended hours, including weekends and holidays, if needed. Demonstrate regular and consistent attendance and punctuality. Physical Requirements: Sit for extended periods (up to 6-8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces Lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Ensures that systems and procedures are in place for managing operations, equipment, and products in a safe and profitable manner in accordance with company policies, guidelines, and procedures. * Leads operations to meet prescribes productivity and service goals. Complies with terms outlined in site operating agreement with the client * Sets goals to drive company Continuous Improvement efforts * Works to develop and maintain productive business relations with vendors, suppliers, and all business partners. Ensures the OSHA requirements and all Federal and State Law and compliance are effectively implemented. * Assists in setting standards appropriate to client and scope of work * Develops and manages a system of controls to ensure that service level and operations performance goals are met within prescribed cost, revenue, and profit paraments for operations * Assists in setting standards appropriate to client and scope of work * Partners with senior leadership to develop and recommend annual operating budget * Responsible for the overall safety and security of operation * Develops team to achieve company and client objectives for the operation * Actively supports and practices mentoring, succession planning, and management development activities at the site level * Communicates the mission, vision, and core values to motivate direct reports. Management Information Systems Proactively develops plans and capital request to ensure appropriate level of automation/technology to service the client. Ensures that necessary computer software and hardware are purchased in accordance with Corporate IT policies and guidelines. Remains knowledgeable regarding changes in hardware and software technology. Customer Management Acts as site level champion of client relationship management. Assures that client accounts receive the required level of operational and administrative support. Maintains appropriate contact with all functions and respond to requests when required. Coordinates and leads business reviews with appropriate client and company representatives for each reporting operation. Promotes a positive relationship with clients by providing excellent customer service. Marketing & Sales Participates and assists Director and other company resources in planning new account strategies, prospecting for new opportunities, generating positive word of mouth, and participates in the development of quoting rates. Budgeting / Financials Responsible for development of an annual operating budget. Develops and manages a system of controls to ensure that service levels and operational performance goals are met within prescribed cost, revenue, and profit parameters. Ensure that the budgeting and pricing activities are in compliance with contract guidelines. Responsible for developing and maintaining contract pricing in a multi-client environment. Equipment & Facilities Manages existing programs for maintaining company standards of sanitation, maintenance, security, housekeeping, safety and, equipment including material handling equipment (MHE). Ensures team members are properly trained on any MHE. Keeps informed of relevant new technology and make recommendations as applicable. Safety Achieves company goals in terms of injury frequency ratings (IFR) and other safety metrics by establishing a proactive and participative safety culture within the operations. Audits warehouse for compliance with safety, security, and quality principles and rules. Ensures all federal, provincial or other statutory requirements are adhered to within the parameters of Health and Safety.
