In 1962, The United Methodist Home of Enid was established through the combined efforts of the Oklahoma Conference of the United Methodist Church, private citizens and Federal matching funds in order to provide high quality nursing care for senior adults in Northwest Oklahoma.
They grew up together in the church, and were married there in 1968.
She graduated from Kremlin-Hillsdale High School and then the University of Central Oklahoma with a degree in Mortuary Science in 1993, and she has over twenty-seven years of experience in the funeral business.
H. L. Kaufman House is listed; however, home was demolished in 2005 by the Enid Public School System to make way for an expanded playground at McKinley School
She started working at the funeral home in April of 2017.
In hopes of bringing new life into the church, a second congregation was added in 2017, when Peace Korean UMC moved into Bethany.
In a 2018 interview, Neighbors said the pantry was founded and has been sustained through a sense of Christian mission.
