About the Role:
Desktop Support will assist End Users in resolving computer/network (hardware and software) related issues and implementing changes on behalf of the user. You will act as a liaison between the End User and the Windows and Networking departments.
What You'll Need:

What You'll Do:
Administer end-user workstations and support end-user activities utilizing TCP/IP on a primarily Microsoft Windows-based local area network (LAN).
Investigate user problems and identify their source; determine possible solutions; test and implement solutions.
Install, configure and maintain personal computers, Windows networks, file servers, network cabling, and other related equipment, devices and systems; add, upgrade, and configure disk drives, printers and related equipment.
Perform and/or oversee software and application installation and upgrades.
Maintain site licenses for department/organization.
Plan and implement network security, including maintaining firewalls, configuring VPN, managing host security, file permissions, file system integrity, and adding and deleting users.
Troubleshoot networks, systems and applications to identify and correct malfunctions and other operational difficulties.
Develop and conduct various training and instruction for system users on operating systems and other applications; assist users in maximizing use of networks and computing systems.
Maintain strict confidentiality and data security protocols when accessing, processing, or storing sensitive end-user information and network data.
Serve as technical liaison and provide IT consultation to personnel across all departments, ensuring seamless technology integration.
Deliver comprehensive computer orientation and onboarding support to new hires and provide ongoing technical training to existing staff.
Manage and resolve help desk tickets efficiently using ticketing systems, ensuring timely response and resolution tracking with clear communication to end users.
Maintain accurate asset management records and conduct regular inventory tracking of all IT equipment, software licenses, and hardware deployments.
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of troubleshooting procedures, solutions, and IT processes to build organizational knowledge base.
Provide reliable remote support capabilities using various tools and platforms to assist users regardless of location or connectivity challenges.

POSITION SUMMARY: Assist with supporting the District's mobile device management systems and system applications; repair, support, and operate the district's technology and media systems.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate degree in computer science or equivalent work experience with computer systems.
Experience working in mobile device management systems such as JAMF and Google Admin.
Software integration and provisioning experience. Experience in educational organizations is preferred.
Willingness to become trained in the system(s) used by the school district.
Ability to organize and prioritize work.
Well-developed oral and written communication skills.
Ability to diagnose and resolve basic computer, projector, TV, media, and technical issues.
Sound judgment and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work cooperatively with all staff and to interact with staff, students and the public in a positive manner.
Ability to handle confidential information, set priorities, work well under pressure with and attention to detail.
Ability to lift 35lbs without assistance.
Valid Ohio driver's license and insured vehicle for visiting sites for repairs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Help maintain district MDM systems, and media systems (TVs, projectors, screen sharing devices).
Provide technical support and assistance, whether on the phone, in person, or remotely related to software, computer systems, hardware, and mobile device management systems.
Drive between school site to attend to tasks, projects and Help Desk tickets as assigned.
Maintain a working log detailing all required system updates, as well as the date of completion.
Organize and file documentation pertaining to warranties and instructional guides for computer and display hardware.
Support department in creating training materials pertaining to technology troubleshooting and usage.
Monitor collection/distribution/repairs of student and staff devices.
Assist with setup and running of the District media equipment for Board Meetings, etc.
Take inventory, support, and repair equipment and software related to the District's technology.
Participate in technology committees, other groups, and organizations as assigned.
Work closely and cooperatively with staff members whose duties are technology dependent.
Attend training sessions as assigned by the Director of PK-12 Technology.
Ensures the safety of students.
Establishes and maintains cooperative professional relationships.
Remains free of any alcohol or nonprescription controlled substance and abuse of any prescribed controlled substance in the workplace throughout employment in the district.

SALARY: $26.24/HR. - $30.43/HR.

OCTO's mission is to direct the strategy, deployment, and management of DC Government technology with an unwavering commitment to IT excellence, efficiency, and value for government, residents, businesses and visitors. The incumbent serves as Supervisory IT Specialist for DC Cloud, OCTO's cloud infrastructure and platform engineering team. DC Cloud is responsible for the design, implementation, and operational support of the District's hybrid and multi-cloud environments, delivering core infrastructure services such as compute, storage, networking, mainframe, identity, observability, and automation platforms in support of 75+ DC Government agencies. DC Cloud enables agency self-service to mission-critical services through modern DevOps practices, infrastructure as code, and platform reliability engineering. The team supports virtual servers, databases, load balancing, backup systems, Active Directory, disaster recovery, and platform-as-a-service capabilities. The position reports to the Associate Chief Technology Officer (ACTO) for Infrastructure Services.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Leads the strategic direction and execution of DC Cloud's platform engineering and operations, including hybrid cloud infrastructure, container orchestration, Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery/Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, and infrastructure automation. Manages the DC Cloud staff of IT specialists responsible for the delivery and support of core infrastructure services such as compute, storage, networking, identity, observability, and backup/disaster recovery. Oversees the design, deployment, and lifecycle management of cloud-native and on-prem platforms, ensuring high availability, performance, and security. Develops operational budgets, strategic roadmaps, resource estimates, and performance metrics aligned with OCTO's mission. Implements standardized management tracking and reporting tools to monitor program milestones and ensure timely delivery. Partners with stakeholders across OCTO and District agencies to define infrastructure and platform requirements, develop solutions, and manage projects to successful outcomes. Provides coaching, performance feedback, and career development support to DC Cloud staff.
Establishes governance frameworks, key performance indicators (KPIs), and operational runbooks to support platform reliability and service excellence. Manages vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and procurement activities in compliance with District regulations. Advocates for best practices in platform engineering, DevOps, and cloud operations across the enterprise.Serves as the subject matter expert for all infrastructure and platform-related incidents, issues, and escalations. Supports agencies in aligning technology solutions with OCTO's strategic IT direction and standards. Supervises the work and conducts performance evaluations of subordinate staff. Duties and Responsibilities

Obtains appropriate approvals from IT management, agency leadership, and governance bodies responsible for AI oversight and compliance. General Job Information DC Public Library Office of Information Technology supports a larger, multi-site network environment of wired and wireless staff and public workstations connected to cloud-hosted servers and applications within and outside the District of Columbia.
This position is located in the Office of Information Technology and Systems (ITS), District of Columbia Public Library. The incumbent provides customer support to neighborhood services and other library units, and provides prompt resolutions of trouble tickets generated by staff responsible for the public computing access network and the administrative network. The incumbent also acts as a liaison with neighborhood library and central library staff to update and maintain software and hardware for public and staff use. The incumbent provides backup support for the public access and print management system.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITY
* Sets up, maintains and troubleshoots workstation and server operating systems. Installs computers, monitors, printers, scanners, and related equipment, ensuring compatibility of hardware and considering the needs of the user at all DCPL locations
* Enters and updates service requests in problem tracking and resolution databases (e.g. Remedy).
* Diagnoses and resolves problems in response to customer reported incidents and needs.
* Assists with desktop application enhancement programs.
* Organizes and conducts appropriate public access training meetings for library services staff.
* Performs quality control on contracted support staff work.
* Partitions and formats hard drives, loads operating system, and selects appropriate configurations; sets up server options.
* Installs and configures off the shelf applications, programs, including word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software. Instructs customers in person, via email and by telephone, in use of hardware and software, security procedures
* Responds to calls about malfunctions, troubleshoots both hardware and software to identify and resolve problems and makes repairs, if necessary. Maintains records in IT help desk and asset tracking systems.
* Develops and updates IT documentation. Instructs customers in the operation of digital telephone service, and voice mail. Troubleshoots basic telephone and cabling problems.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
The incumbent must possess at minimum an Associate's degree from an accredited institution plus a minimum of three (3) years of experience in the implementation of microcomputer hardware and software and related peripherals, management of operating systems and application programs and direct involvement with users.
In addition, the following is required:
* Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Client and Server operating systems, Active Directory, Group Policy and TCP/IP
* Knowledge of Internet working communications principles regarding LAN-to-LAN and LAN-to-WAN bridging and routing.
* Knowledge of advanced Microsoft Windows desktop support and administration principles.
* Knowledge of the District's network architecture to ensure homogeneous interconnecting networks within the broader wide area network.
* Ability to speak and write clearly and effectively and to deal with others in a diplomatic but persuasive manner.

Summary of Job Duties: The Communications Center is responsible for the answering of 911 calls and police, fire and EMS dispatching for forty-eight communities in Hamilton County.
