UAB - The University of Alabama at Birmingham company history timeline

1969

Doctor George W. Campbell was named first dean of the new College, and the school remained part of UA until 1969 when UAB was born.

1970

The Alabama Ballet was originally an administrative unit of UAB. In 1970, Hatcher and the ballet went on a five-week tour of Europe where the company performed in Italy, France, Switzerland, Spain, and the United Kingdom.

1978

On November 24, 1978 the men's basketball team played its first NCAA-level game at the BJCC, but lost to Nebraska.

1996

2002

It was renovated and renamed, and opened in 2002 as the Virginia Samford Theatre.

2022

The History Department at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) invites applications for a full time, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the field of History of Medicine beginning in Fall 2022.
