Department: Environmental Services Status: Full-Time Schedule: Day Shift Hours: 6:30AM-3:00PM Includes: Every other weekend & rotating holidays Responsibilities: * Clean all assigned areas, including patient rooms, public areas, toilets, procedure rooms, offices and equipment, following established procedures. * Remove trash from all assigned areas. * Replenish paper towels, toilet paper, and soap in all locations of assigned areas to assure adequate supply. * Make beds, following established cleaning procedures in all patient discharge rooms and on-call rooms as assigned. * Move equipment, furniture, boxes, wash walls, spot carpets, etc. as assigned. * Inspect and ensure that all assigned areas are properly cleaned and in good repair, report problems to the supervisor. * Maintain assigned equipment in clean, working condition, reporting problems and suggestions to the supervisor. * Follow all safety and sanitation regulations. Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED or currently enrolled in high school program preferred; 1 year previous job experience required in lieu of High school diploma/GED preferred or successful completion of the 5-week EVS training program. Work permit required if under 18 years old. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in order to successfully complete housekeeping duties. Ability to use housekeeping equipment. May in the course of duties be in rooms where medications are stored. No contact with medications is allowed. We are seeking faculty candidates with transdisciplinary experience in the environmental health sciences, toxicology, and molecular epidemiology. Ideal candidates should have experience in modern investigative and computational approaches to identifying and resolving the health effects of contemporary contaminants and/or the exposome of major concern to public health. Expertise in the environmental pathology and appropriate epidemiologic methods, as well as integration of responses within the exposome, is desirable. Preference will be given to applicants whose research interests include health effects of environmental contaminants, chemical and non-chemical stressors. Emphasis on redox biology and/or mitochondria would be complementary to the strengths of the department which include neurodegenerative, pulmonary, and cardiorenal diseases, as well as maternal and child health. MD/PhD or an equivalent doctoral-level degree. Preferred background in Env Health Sciences, Toxicology, and molecular epidemiology or similar field. A successful Natural Resources Support Specialist - Fort Benning will be a college graduate with education in natural resources management, wildlife conservation or management, forestry, or related field. We are also looking for an individual with applicable knowledge and experience outside of formal education that applies to natural resources and environmental management. This is a pool posting for future vacancies in this job classification. This is a one-year limited term appointment. Continuation of employment will be contingent upon the availability of funding. Temporary Employment Services (TES), a unit of the Auburn University Department of Human Resources, is an in-house support center established to meet the temporary employment needs of the university. TES provides qualified and dedicated temporary employees in a wide variety of occupations to meet the staffing needs throughout the campus. Essential Functions * Prepares areas for prescribed burning by using a backpack blower and raking and/or burning around utility poles, dead trees, buildings, or other assets. * Assists with prescribed burning under appropriate supervision while following Ft. Benning's guidelines and procedures. * May assist with selecting and marking trees for sale, thinning, or disease control for designated timber stands. * May assist with nuisance wildlife control. * May collect, record, and summarize data, including those pertaining to forest inventory, threatened and endangered species, and game wildlife species. * May work in duded impact areas with an explosive ordinance escort. * Other duties as assigned. * Must be willing to report to work at Fort Benning, Georgia daily. * Must be capable and willing to do physical labor in often extreme high and low temperatures and high humidity. * Must be willing to work hard as part of a team. * Must be capable of taking directions from superiors.
