Utah Navajo Health System, Inc., started in 2000 as a single service corporation providing medical and dental care needs for rural communities in southeastern Utah.
On July 4, 2009 Blue Mountain Hospital officials joined dignitaries from Blanding City, Utah Navajo Health System, Inc., the Ute Mountain Ute Tribe and San Juan County in an open house and ribbon-cutting ceremony for the hospital.
But now, the non-profit corporation has seven facilities and is building a new clinic in Montezuma Creek, planned to open in March of 2018.
On February 13th, the owners of the Navajo generating station near Page, AZ, announced their plans to close the plant in 2019.
