Village of Larchmont company history timeline

1900

Hello, my grandfather and his family lived in the manor around 1900 I’m trying to find the address.? Max Buchspies, the home was close to the yacht club.

1906

Built in 1906 as a private residence for Aimee Crocker the youngest daughter of Judge E.B. Crocker, the founder of the Southern Pacific Railroad and later sold to Rudolf Schaefer, the owner of New York’s Schaefer brewery.

1920

In response to the popularity of the hot springs, the Third Street Trolley was extended in 1920 to run north along Larchmont Boulevard to reach Melrose Avenue.

The other key event for the area in 1920 was the arrival of Julius La Bonte.

1921

“By 1921,” said Henning, “La Bonte had begun construction on what would become 70% of the commercial structures on the 100 and 200 blocks of Larchmont Boulevard— the blocks between 1st Street and Beverly Boulevard.”

1925

In 1925 it was again sold to the founding members of the present Larchmont Shore Club.

2005

In July of 2005, CNN/Money ranked Larchmont as the 11th best place to live in the United States

2011

In 2011, the median household income was around $169,000.

2019

One Larchmont, a nonprofit focused on revitalizing the business district, founded in 2019 by locals Melissa Manice and her husband, Charles Manice, has worked with the village’s mayor, Lorraine Walsh, to develop creative solutions for outdoor dining.

2020

In 2020, Mamaroneck High School enrolled 1,664 students.
