Description
Supervises and directs the work of drivers to maximize productivity and provide safe, on time delivery to our valued customer base while balancing the driver's miles, home time and performance.
Responsible for managing customer delivery commitments which includes supervising driver time off requests for vacations, personal time off, equipment maintenance issues and traffic delays.
Supervise and encourage driver optimum performance and satisfaction by proactively monitoring driver wait time at shippers and consignees, dwell time between loads, address driver complaints/grievances and act on behalf of the driver as needed, including determining when additional pay is appropriate, approved and in process.
Ensure prompt payroll processing for drivers with proactive steps and communication with the payroll department as needed.
Maximize productivity and utilization of assigned fleet of equipment and employee over-the-road (OTR) professional drivers through communication and proactive steps with maintenance, planning, safety, and customer service departments.
Compute daily checklist to ensure compliance with company goals (KPIs) and verification of all fundamental accomplished.
Regular attendance is required to maintain a safe and productive work environment.

Position Summary
The primary location of this position is on-site in Cullowhee, NC.
The Warehouse Manager oversees the daily operation of the University's warehouse in support of Facilities Management and Residential Living, ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, control, and distribution of housekeeping, maintenance, and construction supplies, tools, and equipment. Warehouse supervisor job in Greer, SC
Primary function of this position is to ensure proper supervision of assigned drivers The Driver Supervisor will work under the direction of the Driver Manager or Designee to efficiently manage their assigned drivers. The position requires professional communications, computer and presentation skills. Position represents the company in a positive image with employees, customers and the community always performing in a safe and ethical manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Manages driver accountability of assigned drivers as it relates to DOT compliance, CTPAT. operations, equipment usage, company policies and the discipline of the same.
Coordinates training of the drivers to ensure assigned drivers are properly trained in company policies and procedures.
Administers the enforcement, review, reporting and compliance of Hours of Service (HOS) and driver logs in accordance with DOT Regulation and company policy.
Responsible for monitoring KPI and Productivity goals for assigned drivers as established by the Driver Manager.
Conducts continuous and regular Ride-Alongs with assigned drivers to capture data on driver performance, driver safety checks, route usage, route time-lines, route optimization, and customer service to better optimize service and fleet use.
Assist in the investigations of Incidents, Workplace Injuries, and Accident of assigned drivers and coordinates with the Driver Manager or Designee and the Director of Safety to ensure Accident Investigations are in compliance with State and Federal Regulations and Benore company policies and procedures.
Ensures proper maintenance of Driver Qualification File (DQF) process of assigned drivers.
Ensures all department required forms and documents are completed in a timely basis.
Administers driver attendance records and enforcement, and coordinates driver Time Off requests (Vacation/Sick/Bereavement) of assigned drivers with the Dispatch Manager or Designee.
Participates in the driver hiring processes and coordinates hiring process with Human Resources.
Responsible for the completion, execution and management of the Performance Review systems of assigned drivers in a timely, efficient and professional manner.
Responsible for the efficient and proper submission of payroll for assigned drivers; coordinates with the Driver Manager or Designee in the completion of payroll submission, payroll issues resolution and payroll distribution in coordination with the Dispatch Manager or Designee.
Follows all workplace processes and standards.
Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Truck Drivers as assigned. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities includes training employees; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Assists in interviewing and hiring process for new employees.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor Degree in management, transportation or a related field is preferred or combination of Associates Degree and Experience. Three to five years experience in management and five years transportation is required. Experience in at least two of the following areas is required: dispatch, tractor fleet maintenance, CDL Driving, and/or transportation safety.
SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED
Must possess strong interpersonal skills. Must demonstrate good communication skills both written and oral. Must be able to manage multiple tasks and projects. Must possess excellent personal computer skills and having working knowledge of Microsoft Office products software i.e.; Word, Outlook, and Excel. Experience in TMW and Peoplenet or similar is preferred. Extensive knowledge in Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and CTPAT.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and regulations, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Must have ability to write routine reports and correspondence and to communicate effectively using the telephone, Fax, E-mail etc. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Class "A" CDL required with no more than 2 points.
