Bachelor's degree in science, engineering or a related field or the equivalent through experience. (Typically six years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor's degree.)
Five years hands-on fossil/combined-cycle power plant and industry experience in operations, maintenance or related training or completion of Navy Nuclear Power Training Pipeline w/Technical rating Instructor Certification Qualification or Navy Master Training Specialist rating or possess a military technical rating qualification, e.g. gas turbines. Including one year in a senior technical/leadership role.
Recent related operations training experience required. Prefer knowledge of and experience with the systematic approach to training (SAT). Ability to decipher PID's and complete efficient walkdowns of power plant systems.
Additional experience in one or more of the following areas is highly desirable: Wet and dry scrubbers, supercritical units, water chemistry, water treatment and waste water treatment plant operation

Designs, develops, implements and presents Integrated Systems Training and initial operator and requalification training programs. Effectively operates multiple simulator platforms and classroom display instructional systems according to Training Group procedures. (15%)
Assures the training programs are maintained current and incorporate information gained from Operating Experience Reports, vendor bulletins and information notices, plant design change, plant procedure changes and revisions, new regulations, and training effectiveness reports. (5%)
Prepares trainee examination and conducts trainee evaluations for classroom, OJT, and simulator environments, as appropriate and conducts counseling sessions for trainees, evaluates the results, and recommends/develops individualized training programs.
