We are currently seeking a contingent Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant (CDCA). This position is responsible for providing support, reassurance, and counseling to patients. Counselor Assistants are responsible for completing admissions, discharges, facilitating/leading group sessions, and initiating individual discussions, as well as patient supervision and observation. Counselor Assistants also must be able to perform the OCDPB Twelve Core Functions and Competencies (including screening, intake, orientation, assessment, treatment planning, counseling, case management, crisis intervention, client education, referral, consultation, and reports/record keeping) under the supervision of a licensed independent chemical dependency counselor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provide ongoing support of patients' individual recovery processes.
Provide quality chemical dependency treatment according to program and agency requirements.
Use appropriate motivational techniques to engage patients in successfully completing their treatment.
Maintain a healthy environment that will promote the recovery process.
Provide basic chemical dependency education, counseling and case management, that consistently directs patients toward achieving full recovery (i.e., disease of addiction, blackouts, withdrawal, effects on self and others, triggers, relapse process and prevention).

Job Description:
The Department of Medical Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences is recruiting up to two (2) tenure-track faculty, at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or full Professor, as part of a major expansion of basic science, interdisciplinary, and translational research. We are seeking outstanding scientists who study highly-infectious pathogens, host-pathogen interactions, and/or vaccine/therapeutic development and require biosafety level 3 (BSL3) and animal BSL3 (A-BSL3) containment for these studies. Ideal candidates will study highly-infectious pathogens such as Mycobacterium tuberculosis, Coxiella burnetii, Yersinia pestis, Rickettsia sp., influenza virus, EEEV, SARS, MERS, West Nile virus, Hantavirus, Chikungunya, etc. The University is undergoing an exciting phase of research infrastructure expansion, including a $7M federal investment to renovate and expand the existing BSL3/A-BSL3 into 6 biocontainment suites, with shared equipment spaces and biocontainment entry/exit showers, for Select Agent, biodefense, and/or emerging infectious disease research. Top candidates will expand and complement the existing strengths of the microbiology and immunology faculty. Candidates are expected to contribute to the training and teaching of professional, postgraduate, and graduate learners, as well as provide institutional service. We are currently seeking a Full-Time Behavioral Health Assessment Clinician. According to State, Agency and Program policies, guidelines and professional requirements, this position provides direct services to assigned consumer with major mental illness and a substance abuse diagnosis, specifically within the Criminal Justice system. These services are provided to assist in resolving or minimizing the effects of a consumer's impairment through a wide range of skills, including assessment, monitoring, crisis intervention, education, linking and training in community resources, assistance in daily living skills, and obtaining necessary services for meeting basis human needs and entitlements. This position participates in a treatment team and maintains professional record keeping.
It is expected and essential for all employees to meet their regular work schedule which may include rotation of shifts. Excessive absenteeism and/or tardiness will not be tolerated. All employees within this department will be required to learn all aspects of their position even when tasks/responsibilities are divided among staff member and/or shifts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments
Complete diagnostic evaluations and determine DSM-5 diagnoses
