Does a company have to pay holiday pay?

By Zippia Team - Dec. 9, 2022

No, a company does not have to pay holiday pay. There are no federal or state laws that require companies to compensate employees on holidays or give them paid holidays off.

While some companies choose to do this as a way to entice job candidates to want to work for their organization, the companies are under no legal obligation to do so.

While you might be entitled to having certain holidays off of work, unfortunately, your company is not required to pay you for the holidays you have off.
