Does a resume have to be one page?

By Zippia Team - Nov. 16, 2022

One-page resumes are recommended for candidates with only a few years of professional work experience.

When you have professional experience in the 10+ years range, your resume can be longer than one page to capture the totality of your work experience, skills, education, and accomplishments.

Those that have less than 10 years of experience should try to keep their resume to one page in length, if possible. You should only include critical information, like your education, previous job titles, internships, and essential skills you possess for the desired role.

You should also try to write your job descriptions in a concise and brief manner.
