This question is about salaries.
The length of time it takes to get severance pay depends on the agreement that has been reached between the employer and the employee. In certain cases, companies elect to payout severance pay in one lump sum.
While other companies may choose to do so in incremental payments, these generally come in the form of weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly severance payments.
A typical severance pay package offers the employee one to two weeks of paid salary for every year in total they worked for the company. Employees usually have 21 days to accept a severance pay package agreement, once it is accepted the employee has seven days to reconsider.
