How many hours can I legally work in a day?
You can legally work for all 24 hours in a day. However, if you are a minor, you can not work all 24 hours a day.
Most minors are only allowed to work for periods of time no longer than 10 to 12 hours. This varies state by state, and each has other restrictions around working hours for minors.
If you are an adult and you work for 24 hours in one day, you are entitled to overtime pay and sometimes other benefits. Legally most employers are only allowed to give shifts of no more than 12 hours, sometimes less, before overtime pay is earned.
