How to become a grief counselor without a degree?
You cannot become a grief counselor without a degree. Pursuing a bachelor's degree in human services, psychology, or a related field is required to register for certification through the American Institute of Mental Health Professionals.
While a master's degree is not required, many grief counselors choose to earn a master's degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field. These programs create further specialized study into counseling theories and multicultural counseling.
It also creates an understanding of family dynamics, psychology of human development, and a comprehensive review of mental health disorders. Many states also require counselors to pass a recognized examination such as:

National Board of Certified Counselors

Although licensure is not required to become a grief counselor, some states do require licensure if you practice as a professional counselor working with grief.
