How to calculate turnover rate

To calculate turnover rate, you must first determine three numbers: the number of people who have left the company during a time period, the number of employees at the beginning of the time period, and the number of employees at the end of the time period.

Once you have this data, the calculation for turnover rate is rather simple:

Turnover rate = (Total Employees who left / Average Number of Employees) x 100

You must take the total number of people who left their job, divide that by the average of people in your company (the average number of employees at the beginning of the time period), and then take that number and multiply it by 100 to get your employee turnover rate.
