How to put minor on a resume

This mainly comes down to a question of relevance. Does your minor have relevance to the types of jobs you are currently applying to? If you feel it does, you should include it. If you feel it doesn't, you may not want to include it.

However, there are other reasons to consider adding it to your resume besides its relevance. If you have a sparse resume, you may want to include it to beef up the document.

You may also want to include it because it may give the impression that you are versatile, and interested in many different issues.

Keep in mind though, you want your resume to be simple and easily digestible, so do not add it if you think it might be superfluous.

Create an education section on your resume.

Employers often look for an education section on a resume to get a better gauge of your background outside of your professional experience. So if you want to include your minor on your resume, this is the section to do it.

This section should also have the name and location of the school you attended. The starting year and graduation year, and the degree you earned with your major included.

You can also your GPA if it was high, or any other accomplishments, clubs, or leadership roles you may have had.

Consider where to put your minor in your education section.

There are really only two options here. You can include it in the same line as your degree and major by adding a comma or you can list it among all the extra information detailing your college experience.

Deciding this, once again, is a question of relevance and importance as to how the minor relates to the type of work you are seeking.
