Jobs that will pick you up for work

By Dianne Doherty - Oct. 12, 2023

Some jobs that will pick you up for work include truck drivers, non-medial transport drivers, and airline pilots. Whether or not your job will offer this perk will depend on your employer, but most jobs where you drive something for work (besides a car) will offer this service. Other jobs that have it will be ones where you're going to be on duty for long periods, such as being on an oil rig or a ship. Here are the ten examples of jobs that will pick you up for work:

  1. Truck Driver

    Average Salary: $60,326

  2. Non-Medical Transport Driver

  3. Airline Pilot

    Average Salary: $85,534

  4. Flight Attendant

    Average Salary: $33,607

A flight attendant is known as a steward or stewardess, an air host or hostess, and works majority in airlines, some in private business jets, or a few other aircraft. Also commonly referred to as a cabin crew, flight attendants act as an ambassador between the airline they work with and the passengers by primarily taking charge of their safety and comfort during the entire flight. They do more than serving meals, refreshments, and drinks to passengers as they must also check the supplies and emergency equipment, secure sufficiency, and make sure everything is in order. They greet the travelers, help in their luggage being stowed properly, and ensure they are in their correct and assigned seats.

  5. Oil Rig Worker

  6. Ambulance Driver

    Average Salary: $53,002

  7. Train Engineer

    Average Salary: $82,531

A train engineer is responsible for operating train engines and controls to transport passengers from one station to another. Train engineers must have excellent mechanical and organizational skills to drive the train, including speed and battery pressure. They should also be able to interact with the passengers, requiring them to have good communication skills to remind them of the rules and regulations while boarding the train. A train engineer observes the train's engines for possible malfunctions and calls maintenance repairs as necessary to avoid potential hazards and delays.

  8. Nanny

    Average Salary: $40,262

Nannies are family employees who are primarily responsible for taking care of children in the family's house. They are usually tapped to take care of the kids while the parents are at work or away on vacation. Their responsibilities include preparing food for the children, feeding the children, bathing them, dressing them up, ensuring that they take a nap, playing with them, and tucking them to bed at night. They also ensure that the schedule set by the parents is being followed. They may also do other household chores such as cleaning, watering the plants, washing the dishes, among others.

  9. Ship Captain
