Careers in prosthetics include prosthetists, orthotists, and prosthetic designers.

1. Prosthetist

   A prosthetist is responsible for designing and producing patients' adaptive equipment. They are tasked with helping those born with defects or post-amputation regain mobility through the selection and design of artificial limbs.

   You have to be an expert in understanding human anatomy and have extensive knowledge of materials and mechanics.

2. Orthotist

   An orthotist must have extensive knowledge of human anatomy and physiology. However, they must also be skilled in biomechanics and engineering to design and create orthosis.

   They are responsible for assessing and addressing a patient's needs to provide them with the external bracing for limbs to support muscles or target body parts.

3. Prosthetic Designer

   Prosthetic designers are responsible for the aesthetic aspect and functionality of the piece. They should have experience in design, mechanics, and the most up-to-date technology necessary to create the most appealing and functional limbs possible.

   Some designers work on bionic limbs. These designers must know neuroscience as well.
