What degree do you need to be an infrastructure engineer?
To become an infrastructure engineer, a person needs a bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or similar degrees. It generally takes four years to achieve this degree and gain an entry-level position as an infrastructure engineer.
A bachelor's degree will qualify a candidate to move into an entry-level infrastructure engineering position. Entry-level infrastructure engineering jobs include a variety of positions where a person will make calculations, monitor and test systems, and document findings.
This is intended to help determine solutions to infrastructure problems that reduce downtime and increase productivity. In this role, the new infrastructure engineer will often study reports and help decide how to improve system performance and processes within the company.
As an entry-level employee, a person will work under a senior DevOps member who can provide additional help and training until you are ready to move out of this position and into a higher-level DevOps role.
