What is business revenue?
Business revenue is the total money earned by a company through its operations; this may include sales of products or services, recurring payments, rent from properties, interest on loans, and many other business activities.
Business revenue can also be referred to as the top line (because this is the first item on a company's income statement) or simply as sales. Operating income revenue is the earnings from the sales of products or services minus a business' operations costs.
When business revenue is calculated, it does not take into account the money a company spends in order to gain it, while income or profit refers to the total amount of earnings minus a company's expenses.
