This question is about jobs.
What is considered full-time in Oregon is determined by the IRS and the Affordable Care Act, or in some cases employers, as the United States Department of Labor does not define full-time employment. The IRS and the Affordable Care Act define anyone working 30 hours or more a week or 130 hours or more a month as a full-time employee.
However, this only applies to companies that are classified as an Applicable Large Employer (ALE) by the IRS. If you work for a small company with less than 40 employees, you may not be under ALE and may have different standards.
While Oregon does not have a specific law set for the minimum hours worked to be considered full-time, it does have a law set for the maximum hours someone can work. You cannot work more than 55 hours per week under Oregon labor laws. This means a full-time employee typically works anywhere from 30 to 55 hours weekly in Oregon.
