This question is about cyber security engineer resumes.
The role of a cyber security engineer is to identify threats and vulnerabilities in a company or organization's systems and/or software. Think of a cyber security engineer as a gatekeeper of information within an organization, responsible for the protection and security of the systems that store this data.
The five main roles of a cyber security engineer:
Cybersecurity planning and policy creation: to establish and plan information security policies, which make the company more secure and less likely to fall victim to a cybersecurity event such as a breach or intrusion
Protective measures: implementing protective measures through firewalls, software solutions, custom scripts, custom tools, and data encryption technologies
Vulnerability testing: includes running simulations and tests to determine any potential areas that could be breached. Basically, trying to hack your own system.
Monitoring and reporting: logging and monitoring systems so as to prevent attacks on the network.
Investigations and postmortem analysis: generating reports and giving presentations when they have made their findings and finalized their investigations and also discussing the root causes of issues to those in non-technical positions
