What makes a good actor?

A good actor is talented, teachable, and hard-working. When you think of good actors, you probably think of just their talent and maybe how wonderful they've pulled off their performances. While talent is extremely important for being a good actor, many other aspects make someone a good actor.

When you see a good performance from an actor, this is often a performance that is done by someone who is exceptionally talented and also has great technique. While talent can be inherent, the technique is not. Technique is learned and so an actor must be teachable. They also need to be humble enough to take criticism and be willing to make changes.

Acting requires a lot of hard work. You need to be able to memorize pages and pages of dialogue, and during the beginning of your career, you often have to fit acting between other jobs and responsibilities. This requires a tremendous amount of ambition and hard work.
