What should I study to become a model?
There is no specific educational requirement to become a model. Most modeling agencies work by having models send their headshots directly to the agency. From there, you may then be contacted by the agency if they see potential and desire to have an interview with you.
Modeling agencies may often have "open calls," which allow aspiring models to meet with agencies during specific times. There are "modeling schools" that can help to teach aspiring models ways to be successful, but these are generally not seen as something that will advance career opportunities for aspiring models.
If someone is interested in pursuing an education in the hopes of eventually transitioning into modeling, there are various majors that could be beneficial. Because models need to know how to best present themselves to agencies and clients, a background in marketing could be beneficial.
As many models will work in photo shoots, having a background in photography could be useful. Education could be helpful for a model, although the most important thing for an aspiring model is getting out and meeting with agencies and clients.
