UD Arena Event Security Representative - Part Time

The Event Security Representative will be responsible for the enforcement of security policies and safety violations, maintaining specific zones and areas within the facility, maintaining a customer service demeanor, demonstrating a thorough knowledge of the layout of the facility and the normal ingress and egress patterns, responding and/or assisting with First Aid on an emergency basis and responding to emergency and evacuation situations as it relates to events held at the University of Dayton Arena, UD Athletics Fields and/or any UD-sponsored events. Minimum Qualifications:
* 21 years of age or older
* Working knowledge of local and state criminal and traffic laws.
* Must be a current OPOTA Certified Police Officer or a retired police officer who has obtained and maintained Qualified Retirement Law -Enforcement Officer status (as that term is used in 18 USC 926C(c)). All Event Security Representatives must provide and carry their active sworn ID or Retired Peace Officer ID and firearm qualification card during all assigned events.
* Required to carry personally-owned firearm, not employer-owned firearm. All firearms, ammunition and methods of carry must be approved by the Executive Director of Public Safety/Chief of Police. Event Security Representatives must qualify with that firearm annually by an instructor approved by University of Dayton Department of Public Safety and submit record of that qualification.
* Free of felony convictions and convictions involving misdemeanors of violence or sexual misbehavior.
* Possess the physical ability to stand for long periods of time.
* Able to become oriented to a large facility while learning and retaining multiple instructions and policies.
* Knowledge of and ability to use the following: two-way radio; ticket scanner; telephone; AED; wheelchair; and stair chair.
* Obtain authorization of secondary employment from other employer if applicable.
* Successfully complete a background check conducted by University of Dayton Department of Public Safety. All hires will be approved by the Executive Director of Public Safety/Chief of Police.
