In the role of Mechanical Designer/EI , we'll count on you to: * Perform routine engineering assignments, with instruction from the Project Engineer or others regarding the expected results. * Conduct analyses to develop design options or recommendations and assist in the preparation of cost estimates and specifications. * Provide owner's engineering support for equipment overhauls, rebuilds and new equipment installation. * Support feasibility studies or conceptual designs for new or expanded projects. * Support inspections and condition assessments of existing facilities. * Support mechanical life extension and system upgrades of existing facilities. * Support mechanical balance of plant upgrades at existing facilities. * Prepare equipment procurement and design specifications. * Perform performance testing of hydro turbine equipment. * Conduct equipment and contractor bid evaluations. * Produce mechanical system designs including P&IDs, equipment sizing, detailed design, and system calculations. * Work independently on small projects, or assist more-senior engineers on larger projects * Perform other duties as needed, including other disciplines such as structural engineering or the hydrology and hydraulics group. * Here at HDR, we have a dynamic work environment, especially in our South Portland Mechanical/Electrical engineering group. Preferred Qualifications * Previous internship experience. * Engineer intern (EI)/ Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certificate. Successful candidate will be required to work 100% in the field locations. This role is based out of our El Paso, TX office. The successful candidate will work full-time on the project site located in Santa Teresa, New Mexico. Develops, implements, manages and maintains EDMS (Ex: Aconex, ProjectWise, Procore, SharePoint etc.) and/or hardcopy documents to ensure compliance with all applicable and required standards, contractual agreements and regulations. Responsible for sending all contractual deliverable to client or other defined recipient. Plans and directs document and content management life cycles for a group or set of projects. Examines documents to verify completeness and accuracy of data and resolves discrepancies with document originators. Develops and maintains procedures and standards for maintaining documents and change control of documents, including document development, approval, production, distribution and amendment. Develops and delivers training on all applicable EDMS tools and processes to end users (Ex: Vendors, Clients, Project Teams, etc.). Updates EDMS delivered trainings as necessary based on changing processes, systems and/or guidelines.
